I understand it's frustrating, but at least they are listening to you.
Go to L&D and see what's what.

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
Still @ l&d. On my 3rd bag of fluids and zofran. Dr won't consider induction until Aug 5th.
Still 3.5 cm dilated Up to 70% effaced Still posterior
:(
I can't help but wonder if another practice would do what I'd like and give me something to move things along, not sit back and wait for another week.

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
It's easy to wonder if another doc would do something differently, but don't beat yourself up with the what if's.
I'm sure they are doing what is best for the baby.
Now come on baby hippo!!!

If it's any consolation, my Dr doesn't consider induction at all until 39 weeks AND 80-90% effaced (not including pre-eclampsia or situations like that).

My doctors wont even talk about induction (unless absolutely medically necessary) until 42 weeks

Mine neither- I was told as long as all factors remain good they would not do a thing about inducing me until 42 weeks- which in my case would be no earlier than Aug.10.

I really think this is it for you. Have a nurse break your water, accidentally of course.

They won't break my water. Unless my contractions get stronger, I'm headed home. Yay.

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
Baby is still sunny side up- there is concern that he's stuck up in my pelvis. His head is putting pressure on my back giving me obnoxious back labor pains.

I would take to them about what problems this could cause for you during labor. I was in full on labor for 30hrs and pushed for 2.5... she wasnt going ANYWHERE by me pushing cause she was stuck. I would up with a C. I had a ton of other complications so I am not trying to say that will happen to you or scare you at all... but I did not discuss this with my dr before hand and didnt realize how much harder it is to push a posterior baby out, if at all.

I agree. At this point, you are going to be exhausted during labor.
I can't wait to check on you & see Danielle's post & not yours!

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
I am no doctor but it doesn't sound like the baby can move down because of the his position or your pelvis is to small.
Maybe they want to schedule a c-section but can't until your further along. Also, if you are delivering at a catholic hospital I am sure they can induce you. My SIL's SIL went through the same thing as you. She was to deliver at St. peter's in New Brunswick (it's on a baby story all the time), anyway she had to go home because they induce it and she had to wait. I want to say she had him a week or week and half later.
With both my children my water never broke and with DS I was 5-6cm when I arrived at the hospital. My contractions were also never consistent but they were strong. They ranged from every 4-6 minutes but they consistent like that. They ended up giving me pitocin and broke my water (that was for both deliveries). With DD, I was worried she was going to stay breech so we talked about a c-section and she said that she cannot do it earlier than 39 weeks due to the hospitals regulations for a scheduled c (this was at winthrop and I am not positive how true this is but it makes sense to me)
I really hope they have some sort of game plan for you come Wed. Just try and hang in their.
