Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
i've been up in the bathroom almost every single hour, with some strong contractions too. I'm going to keep timing until 10am - I just want to make sure it's contractions AND bathroom, not contractions DUE TO bathroom before I go to the hospital and embarrass myself

weird update: the contractions are getting further apart . They seem more painful, but less regular.
I spoke with my favorite nurse at the Dr's office and according to her, this happens pretty often with babies that are posterior (aka sunny side up). That would explain the back labor AND the lack of progress over 3 whole days. Because he's in the wrong position, he's not putting the "normal" pressure on the cervix.
She gave me some tips on how to encourage turning, but said that sometimes baby doesn't turn until he's minutes from birth, because he's already engaged and there's just no room. I'm supposed to check out spinningbabies.com too.
She also said that for some women, labor just doesn't progress until the water breaks. You can hang out at 3.5cm for a whole week with no change. I could be one of those lucky babes.
very discouraged and disappointed.
Sadie was posterior too!!!

I think we've found her soulmate
Still here - still strong contractions, but not getting any closer. What gives?!?! No more bathroom. That's good!
Maaaaybe this is something happening?
GOOD LORD - PLEASE JUST LET MY WATER BREAK SO I CAN STOP THE GUESSING GAMES.

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
My next Dr's appt is Wednesday. I'm going to seriously discuss my options with her. How long can I really stay in this early labor stage? I mean, how do we know that this isn't stressing the baby? I personally believe that 2 hrs on the monitor per week does not accurately show how he's reacting - especially because he was asleep for all but 5 minutes of the monitoring.
Besides the stress on the baby, what about ME? I'm stuck in this weird limbo - I'm so uncomfortable, in pain pretty often, not sleeping, getting anxious, not sure when to go to work or when to stay home, worrying about every little twinge and bathroom trip, etc.
It's hard because I have a 35 minute drive to work. In traffic. All I need is 1 strong contraction and I don't trust my driving. BUT on the other hand, I don't have a maternity leave - I'm just using my vacation days, so everyday that I stay home without a baby is just wasting time that I should have with him once he's here.
At 3.5cm dilated, 50% effaced, contracting every 6-7 minutes, and technically full term, do you think they'd induce?! (baby was approx 7 lbs 2 weeks ago, and my plug is gone.) Or at least give me SOMETHING to make this contractions more consistent?
I'm getting so frustrated....

shorty if i were in your shoes i'd be heading to the ER. no joke. tell them you are worried about the baby and ask them if they can at least give you pitocin.
i don't know if that's totally unreasonable but you've been in early labor for days now and i agree, it's taking way too much of a toll on you

Aww Nicole!!! I hope today is going to be a sign of something great! Can someone drive you to work if necessary?
Also, what did your OB say about the fact that you have been going through this for so long now? They seem to be very passive! I am so mad for you right now!

I'm afraid the hospital is just going to send me home.
My OB sent me home to "labor it out"...

I'm going to play my "mom" card here for a minute.
Call your OB right now and read what you just wrote. Explain that you feel this is putting undue stress on your little hippo and you need to be monitored more closely or induced now. Don't take no for an answer and don't hang up until YOU are satisifed with the OB's answer.
Clearly, "laboring at home" is not working and you need some kind of intervention.

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
I got the Dr on call - he's at the hospital right now and he wants me to head to L&D for an exam.
At the hospital I dont want to deliver at.
At this point, I may just suck it up and deal with the fact that absolutely nothing is going "right" and I should just take what I can get.
