speaking of what he looks like.... DH said to me, "um, what if he's not cute?" (based on our most recent sono, he thinks looks like an alien. ahahhahaha)
me: well you could always say its not yours
him: yeah... or we could say the nurses switched him!!!

When my son was born, his head was massively deformed. He was stuck under my pelvic bone for an hour or more. As soon as he was out, my husband looked at the doctor in PANIC with a look on his face that said "no one in my family has a head like that" The doctor knew what he was thinking and said "don't worry, it is normal. He will be ok" I think my husband thought we had switched babies if the doctor hadn't reassured him.

DH is afraid our baby will come out with facial hair like the kid that turned into a werewolf in Jumanji, because he dreamed it one night. Now he always says it. He is also afraid the baby will come out looking like an adult because the sono pics look like him

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
weird update: the contractions are getting further apart . They seem more painful, but less regular.
I spoke with my favorite nurse at the Dr's office and according to her, this happens pretty often with babies that are posterior (aka sunny side up). That would explain the back labor AND the lack of progress over 3 whole days. Because he's in the wrong position, he's not putting the "normal" pressure on the cervix.
She gave me some tips on how to encourage turning, but said that sometimes baby doesn't turn until he's minutes from birth, because he's already engaged and there's just no room. I'm supposed to check out spinningbabies.com too.
She also said that for some women, labor just doesn't progress until the water breaks. You can hang out at 3.5cm for a whole week with no change. I could be one of those lucky babes.
very discouraged and disappointed.

I'm so sorry you're going through this, it really does s uck.
My labor with my oldest was just as bad. I went into labor Friday afternoon, and she wasn't born until Sunday night.
It was back labor, so it was intense, constantly painful. I couldn't even pee without being in extreme pain. The hospital wouldn't admit me (I was only 3cm) and my DH demanded that they do so I could get some pain relief. She was born 7 hours later.
Definitely try spinningbabies.com. If you want, you could go to a chiropractor, it might help. My midwife recommends gets on your hands and knees for back labor-it relieves the pain and encourages the baby to change positions.
Hang in there.

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
Dear Brat Baby,
get OUT NOW. Aunt Crazy is getting verrrrrry pissy and especially pissy bc you are hurting my favorite sister. soo what if shes my ONLY sister, shes still my favorite. BUT seriously, i bought you a realllllly cute present and i bought your mamma an even better birthing presesnt that has been wrapped and ready to go for two weeks now. im not the most patient person in the world and i would very much like it if you and your chubby cheeks would come out now bc according to the sonogram that your mother so kindly invited me to, you look like me and i would like to embrace your adorableness. i will be the best aunt in the world. and you better get OUT NOW so you can get a head start on walking BECAUSE YOU WILL BE EXPECTED TO WALK DOWN THE AISLE FOR MY WEDDING WHICH IS CURRENTLY LESS THAN A YEAR AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!! so you better get a move on. i cant wait to bite your legs.
thanks. all my love. today and always...
~Aunt Crazy.

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
nope. still contracting, definitely more painful than they were Tues/Wed/Thurs, but nothing regular enough to head out to the hospital.
I've been walking around the house all morning, now i'm going to get ready for a graduation party... I give up.
Really - I give up.

You poor thing Nicole! And the great part-when you see that tiny face, you are going to be so in love, you won't remember this at all! (Well, I hope you won't)
Boy, he really does want to be an only child!

Re: i seriously have the most stubborn unborn child... EVER!
I know what you are going through. It blows.
I just remembered that during one of my very long labors, I had accupuncture done to help speed things along. I was contracting just like you, had the accupuncture at around 2pm and by 9pm the contractions were finally VERY strong and I went to the hospital and the didn't send me home! LOL. Just a thought...(there are certain spots that they stick the needles in to help the uterus contract, I felt a difference right away).
