I see and agree with what your saying - not all views are necessarily a negative response, but maybe the number of responses are.
That's why everyone should just have anonymous polls. At least people would be more likely to be honest.
There are definitely some people on LIW that no matter what pics they post, other girls will claim they love it just b/c they want to fit in. I also think there are more responses depending on who posts the pics.

Sometimes it's not worth it...the person already has made up her mind but posts anyway for validation and seems to agree with the ones that say "great"...so I never bother telling her that Cinderella themes are hideous...IMO. Also, when someone has already picked something but wants an opinion I steer cleer. No reason to offend or hurt feelings since there's nothing that can be done - the choice was made.

I don't repond if someone already bought the thing, or they're set on it. if it's not constructive, why make them second guess. If a girl says "what do you think of thos gown, I might order it" I might give an honest answer if I don't like it, but if she says "What do you think of this gown, I just ordered it" I'm not going to say "well it makes you look fat...but too late!"
Or if it's just a complete matter of opinion and taste, and someone is showing someting, not asking for opinions, but just showing it, I'm not going to pipe in and say "these girls may like it, but I think it *****" because again, not constructive, they didn't ask for my opinion

I think there's a huge clique on there comprised of girls who only praise each other, and wouldn't dare express even a slightly negative opinion, especially against the leader of the pack. I think others want to be part of the clique and follow along. Maybe it's just me, but that's how it appears.

I know a lot of people who have experienced this where you post something, and everyone who responds on the thread will blast you and flame you over whatever it is, and then people will FM you in support. They don't want to show they agree with the opinion that is being flamed.

but some people feel the need to do it!
ETA: Aslo sometimes in that case, even when people didn't ask for opinions, you KNOW the other posters who are saying it is great are full of it. That's why sometimes in my head I say "what are you KIDDING?!?!?" but again, what can you do. I just don't post at all if I don't have something nice to say in that case

I just try to respond to anything I feel I have a valid opinion on.. whether I agree or not...
but its obvious there are cliques.. dont think its a bad thing.. I think its nice that so many of you girls are friends...
Just wish sometimes more then 1 person would answer any of my posts..lol
For example.. there could be a post about.. how many times a day you poop.. and 50 ppl will answer.. but if I ask something like a bit more serious it will go un answered.
So most ppl would rather answer the poop question becuase its asked by one of there clique members then answer something by me who isnt part really of any clique on here.
Haha,.. I just had a pity party for myself
I still like hanging out here though!

see i like the non-poop threads best..I always find them most interesting...
BUT sometimes people need to just be silly...hence the poop threads occurring..
AND i am going to be honest....i rarely see you start threads? But rather see you respond to them?

really? in whose mind?
as someone else stated, there are friendships that are formed. others view that as a 'clique'...i guess i can see that. but to feel like one is being 'cast aside' IMO is just plain silly! as is the 'leader of the pack' mentality. i just don't see it that way at all.

groups of friends exist....
FOR the majority of the people on these boards...
People put mean contexts to them because they are resentful about it...and i think that is sad.
leaders of the pack....damn, imo there are tooo many "leaders" on this site for anyone not to be one at some time or another... AND again, this too is used because people are resentful.
People say how they feel and if they have friends...ALL of a sudden they are "bad", "leaders of packs", "in cliques"
sorry i ain't buying it.
