If I got cards that say Merry Christmas, is it ok to send to those who dont celebrate?

Usually I get HAPPY HOLIDAYS but this year I didnt, I got MERRY CHRISTMAS. Should I get regular cards( without kids pics on it) for those who dont celebrate Christmas or is it ok and its still a ncie gesture. No one I am sending it to is overly religious and i dont think they would be upset.

In my family, we have Catholics, Muslims,Hindu, and Jewish religions. I'm not going to go get all those different cards, so since we do Christmas, that's what everyone gets.

I get one pack of Christmas and one pack of holiday cards. I wouldn't send Christmas cards to people who don't celebrate.

For the 2 or 3 that do not celebrate Christmas I just hand write happy holidays or whatever they celebrate on the inside of their card!

I celebrate Chanukah, and I buy one box of Chanukah cards, and one box of holiday cards that I send to my non-Jewish friends and interfaith couples. In the generic holiday card, I write "Merry Christmas".

I would never think of sending my non-Jewish friends a Happy Chanukah card. On the rare occasion that I get a Christmas card, I always think, "but they know I don't celebrate Christmas ," while still appreciating the sentiment. I would be annoyed if it was a religious Christmas card, with something about Jesus, rather than a simple, "Wishing you a Merry Christmas," as that would blatantly be against my religious beliefs.

That said, if you're only doing one version of photo cards and it's for Christmas, I can totally understand you sending those out those who don't celebrate.

I usually buy a box or two of "Happy Holidays" for friends of different religions. I have a cple good friends that are religious (Jewish not Catholic) and I would feel odd and wrong sending them a CHristmas card.

ETA: When we have kids and do picture cards I will probably write "Merry Christmas" but on myfriends who celebrate another Holiday I will write a note to wish them a Happy XYZ....

I think the card is ok provided you write "Happy <insert holiday>" that they do celebrate on the card.

I got one's that say "Tis the Season" and the inside says Happy holidays and new year. Dh's fam is muslim.

I get a mixed pack with different saying on it, merry christmas, season's greetings, happy holidays etc...

While I may not celebrate Chanukah, I do receive cards from friends and loved ones wishing me a Happy Chanukah. Never have I been offended by it but rather happy that they love me enough to think of my family at the holidays.
I usually send Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays. I don't think anyone on my list would be concerned with what I was actually wishing them

I do.....and I have also received Happy Hanukkah from Jewish friends. I do NOT care what some pre-printed hallmark, mass designed card says, but I DO appreciate the sentiment, and the well wishes and kind thoughts from friends and family during the holiday season. I appreciate the effort made to let me know they are thinking of our family, whether there is a christmas tree or a menorah on the card.

I think its more thoughtless and "tacky" to be put off by receiving a christmas card/hanukkah card from a friend, instead of just appreciating the sentiment and the fact that they thought of you.

Although 98% of our holiday list celebrates Christmas we always purchase, "Season's Greetings" cards. Since I individually personalize every card anyway, I always add Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

I wouldn't send a religious Christmas card to someone that doesn't celebrate Christmas. Maybe a santa claus card. But I would more likely get a small box of holiday cards to send and enclose the picture. I would either get extra regular prints or trim off the greeting part of the photo card.

I think it's fine. I celebrate Christmas but I wouldn't be offened if someone gave me a Hanukkah card. I think people are way to sensitive these days, just be happy someone thinks enough of you to wish you well.
