he has no business representing this country.
FTR. I hate politics. I have no stance on who else should be president just not him!!!!
I am still holing on to hope that he doesn't get the republican nominee and I don't have to hear about him anymore and I can go back to not caring about politics
And thousands of us think OBAMA had NO business representing this country, for two terms no less. That's what politics is all about. There are people who think differently than you (collective you, not just you who I quoted) and someone you may not deem to be fit will get elected. That's life. Obama was elected twice b/c in a large part because HE IS BLACK. That does not deem HIM fit to run the country either. Unfortunately people will vote for whomever they choose, whatever their reasons are. Trump supporters do not have to justify their reasons just as Obama supporters had their reasons. There are people who will vote in Hillary JUST because she is a woman. Madeline Albright said "there is a special place in hell" for women who do NOT vote for Hillary (simply because she is a woman). That is one of the most awful things I have ever heard anyone say…to guilt women by telling them they will GO TO HELL for not voting for her simply b/c she is a woman?
Just to be fair. (although Im prob answering the troll).
1. Unemployment is WAY down.
2. Stock market is up.
3. Everyone has access to health care (im not saying its the best, but they now have access)
4. Economy is doing well.
5. Gas is down.
6. I can go on.
Obama has actually done a good job as president.
Facts are pesky things, aren't they?
He also spearheaded credit card reform legislation, which was huge but mostly forgotten.

I like much of what Obama did. I do have an issue with immigration though - and for that, I can see where Trump is appealing. I'm not voting for him, I don't like his positions on other things that are important to me.

You are only listing the positive things in our country right now and some of those things are not necessarily due to Obama being in office. There are things that can be said about our country that are in an awful state, that many believe are a result of Obama as well. I am not looking to have a debate b/c I don't have the time or energy. You can be happy with Obama's presidency because of the things you listed above, that is your right. But there are many who are not happy with what Obama has or has not done, and they can list a laundry list of facts that make them think he did not do a great job.

Drumpf lol. It's hard to tell bc I used that extension on one device, but I'm on another that doesn't use it.
To be fair, his name should have been changed centuries ago because of the High German consonant shift. He was just late to the party-- LOL.

too many illegals getting full benefits
I'm not going to get involved in the rest of the threat, but I wanted to point out that someone who is undocumented doesn't get full benefits.
I think this is the biggest myth. If you are undocumented you get all these cool benefits.
The only thing everyone gets is free medical. A hospital CANT turn you away.
This is True....My neighbor worked at a hospital in Nassau County and she said they would come in- speaking spanish but then in english say Free Health Care and they would be treated.

What the heck is going on here? Do you know each other in real life? This is just creepy.
this is confusing the hell out of me!!!
OK, home from work. Its an old co-worker who is TERRIBLE at trolling. If you go back to my original reply to this creepiness (page 6), it was very easy to figure out who it was. She's always been slightly off, I almost never spoke to her, so that makes it that much more bizarre.
Now off to read the 3 pages I missed and see who else I can make so angry they act all creepy and stalkerish.

You don't think race relations are much worse now versus 8 years ago?

I don't know. I don't think it is a simple yes-or-no question. This article shows a sharp increase in hate groups after the 2008 election, but, interestingly, a sharp decline after the 2012 election. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-fix/wp/2014/02/26/did-president-obamas-reelection-depress-hate-groups-this-study-says-yes/
And even if race relations are clearly worse, I would need more proof that a simple correlation to lay the blame at Obama's, or any one person's door. That's why I asked about specific policies. I feel I could make a fairer judgement with that information.

Excellent question.
I have said since day one- Obama has caused more of a divide between races than ever before. Even some of my black friends say it. I know we went through it before in the early 90's with Rodney King but back then, we were more together than we are now. The way Obama has handled some of these press conferences and some of the comments he has made just kept fueling the race war. Him being both White and Black should have used it to bring people together, not divide.

I definitely DO NOT disagree that tensions are high and have increased recently. However, I don't really attribute it to Obama, not exclusively at least. Plus, the difference to me, he didn't make his platform in a bid for the presidency about being a racist, misogynistic bigot. For Trump these are facts we know going INTO his bid for presidency, for Obama ,they are a result of events that occurred during his presidency. Yes, he has made some comments that I can see can be construed as adding fuel to the fire, but I don't think President Obama is a racist first of all and secondly, even if he may have fanned the flame a bit to some, it is certainly not in the same sense that Donald Trump has, will or intends to.

I could be wrong but I don't see that it's Obama's fault for the racist divide but more so how others are acting because we have a black president.

I do not think it is far to blame the first black President for racism. He didn't create racism, he didn't fuel racist tensions, and he has never had support of a hate group , such as the KKK, and refused to denounce their endorsement, a la Trump.
We have to talk about race. I get that it's uncomfortable but dismissing it like its nothing is why we're here now trying to have this conversation.

THIS! How sad that people blame Obama for the racism of American people. The people to blame are the racists who are spewing their hateful speech and engaging in hate crimes, and the people like Trump who give them a platform to become further enraged and simply terrifying.

1. This doesn't even make sense. People "do" "racist inequality"?
2. Assuming you mean do we think he has furthered the divide - no. Not at all. Not even a little.
I do not think he's perfect. But to accuse him of that is absurd.
I believe the subject has become hotter since he's been president. But that's hardly his fault.

The racial divide is wider because racists are pissed s black man is our President.
Obama is a classy man, whether I agree w everything he has done or not he is IMO one of the few politicians with a moral compass. Also he's also WHITE. His white mother raised him so explain to me again why he would make the racial divide wider?
I can't.

Re: IF you are voting for Trump. Explain Why.
Not necessarily voting for Trump, but to answer why people may be fed up with Obama, here are just a few of many reasons:
1. Obama flat out lied to the American people to get Obamacare passed. He promised that Americans could keep their insurance plans, that they could keep their doctors, and that Obamacare would save the average family $2500 per year. Not only were all of those lies, Obama knew they were lies when he made those promises.
2. Obama is taking billions of dollars out of Medicare to put into Obamacare.
3. Fewer Americans are at work today than in April 2000, even though the population since then has grown by 31 million.
4. The number of Americans on welfare has hit record highs.
5. In 2013, 20% of Americans were on food stamps!
6. Did anyone forget how the website portion of Obamacare, healthcare.gov, was a non-functional disaster for months when it rolled out and Obama claimed he was completely unaware that there was anything wrong with it.
7. Instead of calming people down, Obama helped fuel the fire by inserting himself into the Trayvon Martin case.
8. He’s responsible for the dumbing down of our education system with Common Core.
9. Americans died at Benghazi because Obama’s administration didn’t take their repeated requests for additional security seriously.
10. Obama is threatening to bypass Congress and simply “legalize” millions more of illegal immigrants even though it’s illegal and unconstitutional and it hurts the American people and will further encourage even more illegal aliens to surge across the border.
People have valid reasons to not be a fan of Obama. In their frustration, they are becoming anti-politician and anti-Washington. Therein lies the success of Trump.

Not saying that some of this isn't correct, but much of this is directly due to Congress, not Obama

I think history will be kinder to Obama than most of us are. I only voted for him once (2012; I was a McCain voter in 2008), and I think overall he did a decent job. However, people blame him for everything (like we do with every president).
A few minor points/clarifications:
2. Poltifact rates this claim as "half true." You can disagree with the move, but it is not as simple as taking money from one and moving it to the other. http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2014/feb/14/national-republican-congressional-committee/nrcc-says-obamacare-cuts-money-medicare-and-senior/
3. I'm guessing here you are talking about workplace participation. http://data.bls.gov/pdq/SurveyOutputServlet Looking at the chart from the Federal Bureau of Labor statistics, it is a trend that long predated Obama. It seems like this trend started in 2000, and it has been a pretty slow but consistent drop. You can blame Obama for not stopping it effectively enough, but it seems unfair to give him all the blame.
4. This is partially true, depending on what you consider "welfare." "The average monthly participation rate in major means-tested programs increased from 18.6 percent in 2009 to 20.9 percent in 2011. However, from 2011 to 2012, there was no statistically significant change in the percentage of people who participated. From 2009 to 2012, the average monthly participation rates for Medicaid, Supplemental Security Income and SNAP increased, while the rate decreased for Temporary Assistance for Needy Families/General Assistance." https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2015/cb15-97.html
6. It was a complete disaster! Obama was kind of lucky because everyone was talking about the government shutdown. Otherwise it would have gotten way more publicity. Pretty effective site now, though.
9. Really not that simple. In June, there was a request for added security for July and August. This was denied by the department because of "limited resources." So while the request was denied, it was a request only for July and August. If it had been approved the extra security would have departed by September anyway. http://www.factcheck.org/2015/10/partisan-spin-on-benghazi/
I don't want to seem like I'm attacking you, but those are a few things that really seemed to need clarification/context. I tried to provide reliable sources for everything.
The bottom line is that you have every right to be sick of Obama, but you do not have every right to blindly blame him for everything. The same thing happened with Bush, and it will happen again with the next president (who will hopefully not be Trump!).

That's a very hard question to answer, because he keeps changing his stance, sometimes literally on the same day (see his recent pivot on torture). I would still be very wary because, while I do respect that opinions can/do change, it is not normally to have one answer in the morning and an entirely different one in the afternoon. I wouldn't know what kind of person he really was. (To be fair, they are all so phony, but at least you can hold them somewhat to promises they made. People have tried to do that with Trump already and he just responds by saying "I also said [xxx]. That's what I really think.).
