My MIL's stylist wasn't listening to her, and her hair was looking pretty beat.
She kept giving her all over color instead of a root touch up & it was all faded looking. In that case, she was better off doing it home--it came out much better.
Try & get a reccomendation if you go to a salon.

Salon for me. Had too many mishaps when I was younger doing it at home.

i do it myself...i have been dying my hair by myself for a looonnngggg time..if you just want a single color i say go for it if you are looking for highlights or any sort of blonde color i then would say go to the salon.....
I agree. I was getting highlights done in a salon for years but I decided that it was just too much money for highlights and went out and bought a box. I colored my whole head. It came out really good!!

I've always gone to the salon to have my hair colored but recently, I tried doing it at home. It really came out nice, much to my surprise.
I would say if you can afford it, go for the luxury of getting it done in the salon but if you're just doing a single process color you can do it at home and have it look nice.
