Did you find the need to institute one as he got older? Dylan just wanted to play all day. He screamed anytime DH tried to get him to nap (DH took care of him today). Then he went to bed really early.

We've never had a strict schedule with Caden at all...

But we have tried to have a routine for when we are home..

Caden is really really good when it comes to going to down either to nap or to bed....but he does have his moments.

Just be firm. You know when he's tired. Ive found that it's miserable for all concerned if you let them play when they are tired

DS didn't nap normally until he was over 10 months old.

That being said: when DH is watching him he naps about half the time. DH is really good in doing errands when DS needs to nap. Chat Icon Chat Icon Then he wonders why DS falls asleep for 15 minutes in the car and won't go down at home. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Although, there have been some days where he just plays and plays and freaks if we put him down for a nap.

We never had a nap schedule. From the day she was born, we were lucky if she napped a few minutes a day. The closest we got to her being a napper was when she was between 1 and 1.5 yrs old and she would nap for an hour in the afternoon like 3 days a weekChat Icon By 18 months, though, she was done napping during the day and hasn't taken one since. Quite honestly, she just never really needed a nap. She'd much prefer to sleep at night.
