If you had a scheduled c-section, did you go early

With Jack I never went into labor and was induced 12 days late.

This time around I have my csection date - basically at 40 weeks.

If you had a schedule c-section did you go early? I would love to have this kid a week before they have me scheduled!

Nope. I was scheduled at 39 weeks and no signs of dropping, labor or anything.

Can you ask your dr. to schedule you for 39 weeks? I think that is the earliest it is allowed without medical neccesity.

No I was soo hoping he would come early. I hated having to pick his birthday. So I scheduled the latest day I could, which turned out to be 1 day before my EDD.
I even tried all the techniques we speak about on here to bring on labor, just to see if I could get away with not having it scheduled, lol.. didn't work :(
I know someone who went I think 3 days earlier than her scheduled Cdate.

I wanted to go at 38w6d but since I wasn't 39w they wouldn't do it. Then it's the weekend and the Columbus Day holiday which brings us to the Thursday of my scheduled date - which is 39w5d.

I was late with Anthony and was scheduled to get induced but wen't into labor. As you know, I had a c-section. With Mattea, they scheduled her c-section a week early and I was even dialated.

Thats funny, all my friends who had c/s #2 were scheduled up to 2 weeks early to hopefully head off the chance of going into labor!

I was scheduled with #1 but it was a last minute decision so I went on my EDD. With #2 I will probably do the same, go pretty close to my EDD, because I feel like DS had no issues arising from his c/s (no fluid in his lungs, etc) and so why mess with a good thing but I am not even TTC yet so that might change when its actually time!

I was scheduled for 11-25

but due to preeclampsia I delivered 11-10

I went early...

With DD #1 I had an unplanned section at 37 w 1 d. My water broke with her and the same thing happened for DD #2 at 38 weeks - 1 week before my scheduled section. I had an appt earlier that day and the dr told me that I would most likely make it to my scheduled date. My water broke that night.

I bumped the section scheduled for 9 - was in the room by 8:30 getting prepped, surgery started at 9, DD was born at 9:15.

Yes. I was scheduled for 39 weeks and my water broke at 38 weeks.

i was scheduled for 39 weeks, i was in early labor, having contractions since the day before my scheduled c.

Yes - but I went early b.c I ended up with preeclampsia so they had to take Madelyn early. But my OB had said there was a good chance I could go early with Madelyn b/c my scheduled section was later than when I had delivered Kaitlyn (I went into labor with Kaitlyn at 38w 3 days). But we will never know b.c I had Madelyn at 37 weeks 1 day.

I think if you were late with your first you are more likely to go on time or late for your second (at least that is what many of my friend found).

With DS #1, I was induced 5 days late and never dilated, so I ended up with the C-section.

With DS #2, I was scheduled for a C-section 2 days before my due date, and I ended up going 4 days before my scheduled C. I was having contractions and was sent to the hospital since I wasn't supposed to go into labor.

I had an emergency C with my 1st DS (7 days early), and my Dr told me I needed to have another one with my 2nd pregnancy. They scheduled me 8 days early, and I went into labor 3 days before that and had a VBAC. When I got to the hospital, they were like start pushing! and I was saying, no, I'm scheduled on Monday...

So yes, you could probably ask for an earlier date, or go into labor early. Big note - just b/c you have a scheduled c, don't assume that what you are feeling isnt labor, but maybe indigestion, and try to go to work like I did! Thank god my DH got me to the hospital in time.

Nope mine was scheduled exactly at 40 weeks and she had no intentions of coming out LOL

My C-section was scheduled for exactly 39 weeks. I was due in the hospital on Friday morning (9/19/09) at 8am for a 10am C-section. My water broke at 2:30am that morning and I had DD by emergency C-section instead on Friday at 5:42am. I guess she really wanted to be born on the 19th of September!!

Yup. Scheduled for 39 weeks.

Went into labor and delivered at 38 weeks.

God knows why Yael was so anxious to come out - she was only 5.1lbs!!

With DD#1 my water broke 5 days before EDD. With #2 my repeat c-section was scheduled for 9 days early. I went into labor 3 weeks early.

One month early and so glad, DD made the school year.

I had a scheduled c-section b/c my son was breech. I had him 4 days before my due date. My dr. said they wouldn't schedule me for the surgery any early than one week before my due date.

Doctors told me to wait until my 38 week appt to schedule my c-section for the next week. I went for my appt to schedule and they sent me directly to the hospital to deliver that morning. So I technically didn't even have a date set yet.

Both my c/s were scheduled for very close to 40 weeks and I went early with both. (1 week & 2 weeks early)
