if you have/had a november/december baby, when did you do the christening?
i know it's months until the baby is born, but we have family out of the country that need as much notice as possible for the christening. they need to plan their vacations almost a year in advance.
DS was born in july so he was 2 months old when he was christened in early september. 2 months old seemed the perfect age because he slept through the whole ceremony and most of the party.
DC is due nov 20 and will be 2 months old in january--which scares me because of the winter weather. but if i wait until winter is over, he/she will be 5+ months old. i'm thinking it may be more difficult at that age, but i know it's possible and many people do it.
when would you do it? take the chance with snow and do january/feb? or wait until spring (which i know it can rain and be cold--not worried about that so much) but the baby is so much older?

We had an October baby and we had her Christening in June. We wanted to have it outdoors in our backyard so we waited for summer.

Re: if you have/had a november/december baby, when did you do the christening?
I was under time constraints because I wanted Eliza to wear the same gown that I wore (my mother made it by hand out of her wedding gown)- so we HAD to do it quickly.
She was born November 5, and we Baptized her on February 7. It was CRAZY warm that day (almost 70 degrees!) so we had a great day for it!

My DS was born 12/11 & we are planning it for Labor day Weekend. I wanted to wait for summer so I can have the party in my parents back yard. It will be the end of summer due to other events already planned for the summer.

Re: if you have/had a november/december baby, when did you do the christening?
We did ours later than most people, but it was fun. We did the christening in late November. That way, he could have his first birthday at home. We had family over the day of the Christening, and we had a first birthday party with friends the following week.

Re: if you have/had a november/december baby, when did you do the christening?
Born at the end of November, Christening was first week of April. Our church only did it the first Sunday of the month.
I wanted to wait until after the holidays, I knew January was out and I just didn't get my act together in time for Feb. or March. It worked out well.

Re: if you have/had a november/december baby, when did you do the christening?
daughter was end of Oct and we did May.
this baby is due 1st week Dec and I am not yet sure what we are going to do.. probably also wait until May just b/c I would like baby to have at least 2 month shots b/f having a big party- and that would put us right at Lent- my parish doesn't to baptisms during Lent- so it would be after...

Did I miss your announcement? I had no idea! Congrats!!!!
DS was born 10/13 and we had him baptized March 21. It was great... not too cold.
ETS- DS was 5months old it was great! He was alert the whole time and didn't cry once. I am so happy he was alert. IT was like he participated- he made cute noises when the priest was asking questions.

Re: if you have/had a november/december baby, when did you do the christening?
Ds was born 11/18 and we had his christening on Palm Sunday 4/5. He was a little angel in church and at the party - for us it worked out to wait a lil longer since he was very colic and cranky until he was about 3 months.
I missed your announcement, congrats!!!
