If you pay off your credit card in full every month...
Do you pay the amount on the statement, or the amount that you actually owe when you make the payment? For example, you owe $100 on the date the statement prints, but you dont actually pay the bill for another week. By this time, you owe $200 due to recent purchases. Do you pay $100 or $200? Just curious how others do it.

The $100.
Because the new purchase would be on next months bill.

me too....bear in mind that the extra $100 will not accrue any interest so unless I had an issue with budgeting money I will pay that part next month and float the $100 in my own account.

what's on the statement - you will not be charge interest as long as the prior month's balance was paid off fully.
So you actually get an interest free loan for those 3 weeks

I call the number on the back of the card to get my balance and write the bill for the actual balance.
I've had the issue (once) when I paid what the bill stated, but I actually owed a little more, since I bought something the day the bill was printed. The bank cleared it up for me, but since them, I always write the bill for the balance on the card - no matter how high/low it is.

I pay the statement. Your balance will always be more than the last statement if you keep making purchases. So by the time you pay the balance anyway and it gets posted on your account, you will most likely have used the card again.

I pay off whatever the statement balance is. If I use the card after the latest statement date, as long as the new charges are paid off by its due date I don't accrue any interest.

Definitely what's on the statement. The only time I paid more was when I was really young and my credit limit was low and I had made a big purchase and wanted to clear it so it wouldn't take up my whole limit.

Re: If you pay off your credit card in full every month...
I check my balance online the day I plan on paying it and pay that amount. I do this twice a month (on payday).

Re: If you pay off your credit card in full every month...
I pay mine off on-line, so I pay whatever the actual amount is. It's just easier for me to pay the entire thing off, instead of trying to remember how long each charge won't be accruing interest.

Since I pay online and do not get paper statements, I just pay whatever the balance is on the card.

Re: If you pay off your credit card in full every month...
It depends on how much extra I have in my checking; if I have extra money set aside I might pay extra in advance.
