Re: If you started food at 4 months...

we started at 3.5 months bc the ped recommended we try, DD wasnt ready.

tried again about 3 weeks later and shes doing much better

we started with oatmeal and rice (we know shes OK with rice, she used to get it in her bottles)

we give it to her at dinner time with her formula, about 6-7pm

she's also had
carrots
squash
sweet potatoes
sweet pea (in that order, 3-4 consecutive days of each to make sure she didnt have a rxn)

she eats a little less than 1/2 tub at each sitting. shes still getting used to it. we mixed cereal with a veggie last night (oatmeal/sweet potatoe) and she finished what I made, so that was a small victory.

we'll probably start fruits in a couple weeks

im not going to increase the number of feedings until she has it down pat, and can finish a tub per feeding

We tried a little oatmeal at 4 months, she wasn't too happy with it, so we tried again a week later, same thing. Then at almost 5 months we started prunes, and now at 6 months she has two meals a day (oatmeal with fruit and then veggies in the evening)

If your DC doesn't like it, just wait and try it again later.

Re: If you started food at 4 months...

We started giving DD oatmeal and rice cereal at exactly 4 months. She'd get one or the other 1x/day. Did this for about 5 weeks... she seems to like the rice cereal better and WILL NOT eat it mixed with formula, only breastmilk!

Last week we introduced veggies... 3 days of peas and today we tried carrots. She's loved everything so far.

So now at 5 1/2 months she gets oatmeal or rice cereal in the morning (i think 2 tbsp) and a veggie at night (about 1/2 a jar).
