If you started milk before a year...a few questions

What age did you introduce milk? Why did you decide to do it, other than being your peds advice of course.

My ped said we might be able to start milk at 10 months. He is 9 months now, I'm just wondering if there is a reason to start it earlier other than saving money

And also, was there a significant drop in their intake from formula? DS takes 24oz a day, 3 bottles.

And one more question, did you start with only sippys and do away with bottles right away? ETA: He does drink about 3-5oz of water from a sippy everyday.

i started DS on milk at 10.5 months after DS#2 was born. I did not want to have 2 of them on formula plus DS was not drinking the formula as well as he use to..

We actually saw an increase in his intake when he started with milk. He gets his milk in a bottle still but everything else in a sippy (he refuses to drink milk from a sippy)

i just posted this this morning! would love more answers.

we started the switch at 11 months and graduated introduced milk so by 1 year he'll fully be on milk.

im noticing a drop in ounces with the milk.

DS refuses the sippy cup!!

ETA i thought it would be cheaper changing to milk, but turns out its not! i was using BRU formula for $13 a tub. that would last me about 1-2 weeks. now with this organic milk, its $5 a half gallon!

i started DD on the VERRY early side-10 months. long story short-had to emergency stop BFing and the child REFUSED formula. Ped gave the ok to then go to milk-went with it and never had a problem whatsoever. DS swtiched over at 11 months for no reason than that DD was fine with the early switch and what difference in my mind did 4 weeks make-if he was a year or not?
DD went right to sippy no problem
DS kept bottles til about 13 months then i ditched them and offered milk ONLY in the sippy. he eventually gave in to that.
i am not psycho about how many oz. of milk they get. they both drink milk and eat a lot of cheese/yogurt and other dairy based stuff so i am not counting at all. they are healthy and growing just great thank goodness.

we started the switch at 10 months. DS was EBF and I just didn't want to pump so much while I was at work and the ped ok'd it. We actually are seeing an increase in ounces....I think he likes it better than bm!!
