First of all, can't believe my little girl is going to Kindergarten..anyway lol
1) What will your DC's hours be?
2) Did they have their assessment yet?
3) What are your concerns, if any.

to answer my ?s
1) DD's hrs will be 9:30am-3:30pm
2) Not yet. Scheduled for a week and a half.
3) My only concern is the whole adjustment to the new school. She loves her Pre-K now and has all her friends (that won't be going to K with her) so I'm hoping she adjusts ok.

My DD is extremely shy as well. It took a while to open up and make the friends she has now in Prek. I am sure they will be fine but it's also a concern of mine.

9:15 to 3:15
We had orientation earlier this month and assessments are early June
My concerns- the bus. I am not comfortable with putting my baby on a bus and then not knowing if she made it to school ok. I am used to walking her into her classroom.
I worry she will be scared
I worry how she will get to her classroom once she gets to school
I worry about so many things.
How will she adjust?
She is very shy in certain situations.
Her daycare is the only school she has ever known since 8 weeks old
It's so nurturing and warm and safe there.
I am not ok with it- even a little.
I am in denial

my DD has been going on a bus since 3 BUT it was so close to home. And in the beginning I would call to make sure she got there ok. Now, it's further away and Im getting anxious thinking about it.

Hours: 9:15-3:15
Assessment- June 10th
Concerns: we went to orientation and she hated the bus and wouldn't get on it. It's a really long day and she will be a really young 5 as her bday is late August. She loves her prek so much and her teachers and they love her. I'm worried she won't love her new teacher. Her school is so warm and loving and they take care of her like she is there on. I hate hate thinking about sending her off to the unknown.
My main concern is me lol! I'm going to miss her terribly. I can't even talk about it without getting choked up. I keep thinking it feels like yesterday we took her home from the hospital and now she is going to school. Time went by so quickly I'm so happy I got to spend everyday with her.

It's the worst! My youngest starts nursery school in the fall too! I'm really getting baby fever now

First of all, can't believe my little girl is going to Kindergarten..anyway lol
1) What will your DC's hours be? She's half day, I'm pretty sure she will be mornings 8:30 the bus comes till 12ish.
2) Did they have their assessment yet? Yes, she did very well, scored 89% I believe, it was in April
3) What are your concerns, if any. Right now I don't have any, because she's very excited to go and I just went through it this year with my DS, so I know how the day flows. However randomly she will get upset that she won't ever go back to her prek, so I just hope she really enjoys it.

I can't even believe my baby is starting K in September. It makes me sick to even think about. I am tearing up at my desk right now! To answer your questions:
1) What will your DC's hours be? 9am-3pm
2) Did they have their assessment yet? Yes, we did the screening last week and K orientation in 2 weeks.
3) What are your concerns, if any. Way too many to list. I work in an elementary school and know way too much so I am hypersensitive to so many things. I almost wish I was in a different career path so I could be ignorant to all that really goes on.

1- the bus picks up at 7:30, home by 3:20. I feel a lot better about it because he will be with his big brother for two years.
2- the evaluation was last week. He did great, but talked a little too much. 
3- I'm not really too concerned. I think he'll adjust just fine. I just hope he has at least one familiar face in class

Yes, he did.

Not too concerned as DS is super easy going and already used to long days. I'm a little worried about the bus though.

I seriously cry every time I think about it and have for years now.
Like when I answered before I started crying at my desk.
I don't' know why. I'm normally not this bad. I just can't get past this.
I feel like I need counseling or meds or something!

we are in CT but dd goes to K in Sept. She's ready, ready to leave me for College lol. She doesn't care and change doesn't effect her much. Me, I am never a worrier or even a very emotional person, but she turned 5 on Sunday and my life has been turned upside down lol. I can't believe she's goign to real school. Any who we had orientation last week. Her hours will be 8:35-3:25 ( I believe lol). The bus scares me to to help others, our school the first 2 weeks, teachers take the K kids off the bus first and get them where to go. then they stay inside and the guide them the hall, then by the end of the month, they will be all set and on their own. that helped my fears lol. then they have 5 th grade buddies the whole year get them on the bus at the end of the day. So hopefully something like that will take place in your school
I don't have to many concerns. I know she's ready and SUPER excited
I don't think they do assessments here

2) Had 3 assessments (hearing, vision, group interaction, speech & reading)! My kid is very friendly & a ham. I'm sure he did well.
3) I worry that the moms & dads I met were nuts & I worry about the kids. Everything else, I think we can handle.

Think we are in the same area.
Same times as you listed, screening is also a week and half away.
I have some concerns about the length of the day (some days will start at 8:15 for DC because I have work)
I'm also worried he won't know anyone in his class, there are many many kids in the school. I worry about the following year because he will move schools again.
He is a crier and it's really hard on me to leave him crying

My dds go to catholic school so they will be going 8-2:30 same school as last year, so no assessments the only thing I'm worried about is the workload. They didn't have hw this year so 2 sets of hw and I know they take tests not looking forward to studying

My baby will start kindergarten this Fall!
Hours are 9:15 to 3:45.
He did the assessment in April, it went very well.
I think it will help that his older brother (2nd grade) will be in the bus and at the same school. But, he may have a hard time with the long day. It will be an adjustment.
The past five years flew!!! It is sad but also fun to watch him develop into a little boy. He does love to learn, and he is very social.

her assessment is on Friday morning.
dd just did a pta practice class at her elementary school and she loved it.
I think I'm going to be the one having a hard time not being with her all day!!

My youngest starts K in the fall. She is soooo excited to be at the same school as her sister. She will.go.9:03 to 3:20. Her screening was last week.and she did fine.
I'm not really worried too much, just hoping she has a friend or two from the block in her class..
