If your infant (8weeks) would sleep in his crib at night...

....but gave you much longer stretches of sleep if he slept in his bouncy (6 compared to 3), would you let him sleep in the bouncy or is it just asking for trouble later??

Personally i went for the crib right away bc i wanted him to be used to it and wanted that to be his place to sleep.

I understand though bc my DS is the antisleeper and sometimes i let him fall asleep on me while BF on my bed or couch.

I would do whatever works right now. Early on my DD hated the bassinet. The only way she would sleep comfortably in it was if we put the Newborn to Toddler Rocker in the bassinet and let her sleep in there. After a few weeks of that she transitioned to the bassinet with no problem and at 12 weeks we put her in the crib and she was perfectly fine.

You can't create bad habits with a baby so, so young so IMO............do what you need to and what works. Generally whatever you're doing will be short lived at this age so you're no going to set up any bad habits.

Personally at that age I would let him sleep where ever he slept the best. You both need to get your sleep, it makes everyone happier Chat Icon

I wouldn't. but only b/c I have anxiety and too much fear of re breathing from sleeping in that position.

eventually he'll get used to the crib.

Stick with the crib. Less of a hassle later on. Sooner or later they are so tired they get used to it. My DS would only sleep in his swing until I just kept trying and trying the crib and now he's fine in the crib. Plus before you know it your DC will be too big for the bouncy!
