I'm annoyed... vent
I need to get this off my chest so that I can relax and enjoy the weekend.
So… my doctor’s office “forgot” to call in my letrozole on Friday for me to start taking Saturday. I got home late Friday and the pharmacy was closed. My husband was kind enough to go to CVS for the meds while running errands for our bbq that day. He calls me and says there’s no prescription for me. I call the office and they are closed. I have a nurse paged and she calls in the script. Well, she didn’t speak to anyone, just left a voicemail, which the pharmacist couldn’t understand. I had to call her back on her cell and ask her to call CVS back. Got my meds, we’re all good.
Tuesday I call the doctor to see if they called in my ovidrel (mail order) and only received a call back yesterday. I get the call back today from Freedom and the first available day they can get me the shot is Tuesday. BUT I need it Monday for my monitoring appointment. Let’s hope I don’t need it until Tuesday!!
If I wasn’t sure I needed to switch doctors before, I am now!

ugh, this place seems like a mess.... can you get them to call the ovidrel into kraupners, so that it can be delivered the same day?

Agree. Kraupner's can usually get it to you the same day. Their evening delivery hours are 7-11pm I believe.

They don't have anything in their supply for me to replace mine with, UGH!
First 3 iui's were a breeze, #4, not so much!
I don't know about Kraupner's. My insurance company uses Freedom Pharmacy. They just called and it's no longer fully covered and requires a $75 co-pay.

I don't think it's the place, I think it's the specific dr and nurse. I was treated at RMA in NYC for a year and never ever had anything like that.

Just FYI, some pharmacies carry Ovidrel. If they don't, they can call around to other locations to see if anyone has it in stock. Do you have a copy of the actual prescription? I was only allowed 2 in store fills for Ovidrel from my insurance company -- everything beyond that now has to go through a specialty mail away pharmacy but its worth a shot! I had luck getting it through Walgreens and CVS.

Agreed. RMA is so thorough and I'm dealing with my dr in westchester monitoring in garden city and retrieval and transfers in NYC - so I'm dealing w three offices and group of people and they have never once dropped the ball, forgotten a script etc. I would definitely vent your frustration at the dr and nurse. But the practice itself is amazing.

That stinks. Since its not covered by insurance anyways if you need it on Monday, I would just have them order on Monday from Krupners and get it delivered that night. My insurance only covered 3 ovidrels too.
I hope things get better soon.
