I'm scared to have sex. Did it hurt the first time you tried?
I'm 5 weeks pp and feel perfectly fine but I feel terrified to have sex again.
Anyone else feel similarly?
I'm going to wait until my 6 week appointment but I feel completely healed. I'm just scared! I don't know why.

Yes, it hurt a bit. I was a bit rusty. And I had a c-section!  It did it hurt regardless. But for not too long.

I am only 2 1/2 weeks post partum and I feel the same way looking forward to doing the deed again.. g*d knows DH cannot wait!!!! But I am scared out of my mind!!!! Any advice from BTDT moms... send it our way!!!
The one piece of advice I was told was use lots of lube... especially if you are breastfeeding... we are supposedly very dry....

It hurt for me, but it was bearable discomfort. I waited till I was 8 weeks pp and to be honest I could have waited even longer and am still not looking forward to doing it again. BFing is still wreaking havoc on my hormones and I just have no desire, no drive at all....but I took one for the team (DH being the team ). I didn't really enjoy it as I was very dry, as a pp mentioned, you might want to have something handy to help with that if you're BFing, you're more than likely going to be pretty dry. Just take your time, emotionally and physically.

I could have written this word for word! Lube up and try to stay relaxed. Part of the discomfort for me was my anxiety of doing the deed made me very tense so it might have been less painful if I had not got so caught up in the fear of it.

Not to scare you because I truly feel like I am in the minority... but I am 9 weeks pp and we tried the other night- it was unbearable pain...we stopped- we barely had even started.
I had another appt today with the doctor and asked her about it- she said my estrogen is low and gave me a cream and I also still have some healing to do (she gave me a prescription to help me along) she said it should be better once I get my period
Needless to say... I am terrified for the next time we try...

i did not wait 6 weeks, i was too antsy. I waited i think 4.
IT was painful but not horrible. Do use lots of lube and keep using it for a while after b/c it makes things much easier.
I think i was a bit drunk.
I dont drink normally except for parties and what not but for some reason after i had my first baby i had a phase of drinking to relieve my anxiety. (i was not getting wasted but i would have a couple of shots b4 bed- i had major insomnia) And i think the fact that i couldnt do it b4 but could now played a role.
So, a couple of drinks and some lube.
(i hope my child never reads this as a teenager)

I had a C-section and the first time REALLY hurt. We didn't finish.
Stock up on lube.

It hurt A LOT for me, but I was bfing and my OB told me that sometimes it is painful when you're BFing bc you're apparantly dryer

A little dry. I had a c-section so no healing issues down there.
Three words: lube lube lube. It made all the difference.

It was very painful for me. I had a c-section so I didn't expect it to be painful. I'm BFing though, which is probably the reason why it was so uncomfortable.

It was definitely uncomfortable. I would say it was tender, not necessarily painful. Just sore. We took it slow and did the same for the next few times after that.
To be honest, I was worried it would never feel the same again, but eventually it did.
