In Denial.... UPDATE!
Most of you know that about two years ago when Chelsea was 7 months old I was diagnosed with MS. It sucked and I accepted it the best I could. I did everything I was supposed to. I did research, I took my injections every day, I went for my MRI's…. I went to see my neurologist every 3 months. I was lucky and didn’t have any major flares. I lived my life like a normal person with the exception of giving myself injections every night.
Fast forward a year we found out my medication wasn’t working but we were going to TTC anyway so I stopped all medication and luckily got pregnant within 3 months. Pregnancy puts MS into remission so for the last 9 months I didn’t have to think about this horrible disease I have. With the exception of a few doctor appointments I didn’t think about it at all.
At my last appointment my neurologist and I made a game plan for once I had the baby. After pregnancy the majority of people have a major flare within 6 months. That game plan was supposed to go into affect the day after I had AJ. It involved IV steroids, MRI’s and new drugs….
I still have not made the phone call.
I can’t.
Some would say I am in denial and I totally agree. I don’t WANT to be that person. I don’t want to have this awful disease. I don’t want to have to decide what medication to take next, both of which have some scary side effects. I don’t want to think about the future and how I may someday be a burden on my children.
So instead I sit here on my couch crying (because it sucks and I am 12 days postpartum) and can’t make that phone call to start this process all over again.
UPDATE: First I want to say thank you to everyone. The hugs, words of advice, FMs....all of you are wonderful women!!
Second....I made the call. My first infusion is on Thursday. It sucks but I know it is the right thing to do for my children.

do you want to deal with this - hell no!
and I am sorry that you are faced with this.
Stay positive, take it head on, and tears along the way are OK too.
I wish I had a magic wand for you, all I can do is send prayers for strength and health, and a hug your way.

You're only 12 days PP and it is ALOT to deal with I am sure. You know you need to make the call and you will, waiting one or two more days won't hurt, you'll do it - take it easy on yourself, its alot.

This is such an awful situation. But the best thing you can do for you and for your family, as difficult and upsetting as it is, is make that call. Gosh forbid - you don't want to wind up IN this flare up and completely unable to tend to your beautiful family.
I am not trying to be insensitive because goodness gracious I am not in your situation and crying with you right now. But dealing with the situation head on is your best fighting chance.
So be the outstanding mommy and wife you are and call your neurologist.
I am sure your DH and family are an amazing support system and of course you always have these boards to be a shoulder to lean on whenever needed.
Many and are being sent your way.

I am not in your situation but I do have a family member who has MS. Do what you can to help your children because it might prolong your condition. If you want and get a bad flare up you could get worse and you dont want that...I am so sorry you even have to think about it..my heart goes out to you.

I'm so sorry
The one thing I AM glad about is that you had 9 months not to have to worry about it. And now you have a beautiful LO to add to your family.
You will make the call when you are ready--nothing that any of us say is going to make you pick up the phone any sooner. YOU have to want to do this for yourself and for your kids. I can't imagine what a rough time this must be for you.
Hoping you can find the strength to make that call ASAP

I am so sorry you are going through this.
Definitley let yourself have a really really good cry. Get a good night sleep.
Take deep breaths and when you're ready, make that call.
Do it asap. Think of it as doing it for your children and of course yourself.
