Iphone people- Apple Care?
If you have an Iphone- did you get Apple Care for the protection plan. If so, have you used it and was it worth it? I am hemming and hawing over getting it. It's $99 up front and then if I drop the phone and crack the case it is $49 to get a new one.
Thoughts?

I have it. Haven't used it yet but I think it's worth it.
Best Buy has it and I don't think it has a deductible..check it out.

I did. I was going to get the Verizon one, but it was like $10 a month and $100+ to replace the phone if you dropped it. Only difference is Applecare doesn't protect against theft/loss.

I have it and it's worth every penny, I've had my phone replaced 3 times, none of which I've had to pay for! Also have it on my iMac and they have replaced that for me once as well.
I have heard from a lot of people the Verizon protection plan is a waste of money and a scam, there were a lot of articles on google a while back, I'm sure they are still around. With the monthly fee plus what you would have to pay if something broke, along with what is and isnt covered, you end up paying sooooo much more then if you would have just gotten AppleCare.

apple care does not protect water damage or theft... in fact, if you get water damage it negates the apple care.
I bought mine at Best Buy and pay 16 dollars a month.. Anything happens to the phone, I get a new one free. Not refurbished and no fee

in 2 years you're paying about $340 at 16 a month

Imagine the alternative....
You break your iPhone and don't have Applecare and have to shell out over $500 to buy a new one at full price.
I ALWAYS tell people to get protection plans on their phones.

It does cover water damage - my friend dropped hers in the toilet and it was replaced.
