Is 6 ounces of formula a bit much for a 6 week old
I don't know that seems like alot to me....sometimes I don't know if he crying cause he is hungry or I just stuffed the crap,out of him..lol

Every baby is different. If he is taking it and not spitting up I'm sure that's fine.

My DD who is on the smaller side is doing 5 oz at 5 weeks so I think it's fine.

at 2 mos. the recommended amount is 3-5 oz. every 3-4 hours (6-8 feedings a day) thats based on an average baby weight of 7 lbs at birth. So, yes, to me it seems like a bit more than recommended amt...but if your child has a hard time gaining weight or seems ravenous then thats something to factor in

My little guy is 12 weeks and is taking 5-6 every four hrs or so. At that age he was taking 4oz every 4 hrs.
Each baby is different and as long as he isn't spitting up then I'd say its ok. They say you can't overfeed a baby. The Dr will tell you if its too much or not enough and they base a lot of it on how your little one is gaining weight.

My ped said that if he wants it, give it!! He knows better than us. I had the same question for my DS at his one month appt. After 4oz and sometimes 5oz, he still seems hungry.

Sounds like he has a very healthy appetite. Ds is drinking 2 to 4 oz every 2 to 3 hrs at 10 weeks.

if he wants it and holds it down then i think its fine. every baby is different. my DS is 9 months and takes 7oz bottles and has been for months. he just never seemed to want more
i think its great that hes such a good eater! good for you!
