4 ounces of formula for a 1 week old???
Doesnt this seem like a lot. The kid is always rooting. I just fed him 3 oz and was still routing then put another oz and he finally looked satisfied.
Do you think I am overfeeding him. I am not used to this since DD was never big on eating anything, not even her formula.

2nd, nope. DS came home eating 4oz. He weighed 8.9lbs at birth.

DD was eating 2 oz of formula on top of BF'ing for abpout 15-20 minutes so I'd estimate that was about how much she ate total
By 2-3 weeks we had to start giving her 4 oz formula on top of BF'ing-
She's 7 weeks now and weighs 11 lbs 4 oz ( born 8 lbs 10 oz)

For my DS that would have been too much. He never ate more than 2 oz at that point.... he DID frequently clusterfeed (eat 2 oz, and then want another 2oz 30 min later)... but never 4 oz at once...

My DS is 12 days old and has been eating 4 oz for about a week now. The ped said it was fine-- if he is hungry then let him eat!

Sounds just fine. Alexa moved up very quickly and is now 12 weeks old and taking 7 oz.
