I feel the same way. There's a certain amount of irony to complain about complainers.

I agree. Some of these replies are just...wow 
To the OP, I don't like it either. The scrolling of the "What people are doing" list bothers my eyes a little bit.

I do see it as a big deal if people I'm not friends with can see interactions on my wall by subscribing to their friends' feed.
I'm sure there are others that feel the same way.

I'm not disturbed by it, but I'm getting annoyed with all of the changes. I've thought about deleting it, but I'll probably just deal with the changes, move on, and not utilize any of the new stuff.

I actually am annoyed with the new FB changes - mainly because it now seems as if the scrolly thing on the side is sort of a fb within a fb
and i don't like that fb designates what is a 'top story' based upon the number of comments or likes that a story gets.
So I may not see a status update posted by a friend that doesn't get any comments on it, whereas an update posted by another friend that has a bunch of comments will always be pushed to the top
its like a popularity contest imo
i use fb to keep in touch with friends that i don't see in real life.. so if no one else comments on those posts, i won't get to see their updates as much. It's really frustrating.
And i also have one friend who is on fb 24/7 and comments on EVERYTHING, so in my scrolly thing on the side, all i see is his comments.. on everything, all the time. It's very annoying.
im sure it will take some time getting used to it as did all the other changes. But i'm not so sure this one is a positive move on their part
Google+ anyone?

i thought subscribing to someone meant that you always saw what they posted on their wall... Not that youre able to see what they post on other peoples wall

FB has this new friend list feature where you can classify friends (for lack of a better term): Close Friends, Acquaintances, etc.
I put all the people I want to keep up with the most in the Close Friends category. This is in addition to any other catergory they may be in (LIF friends, HS Friends, Family - which I would not change b/c they are sure to change this feature at some point too ) - it's a mix of the people I am closest to. Then on the left side of the news feed there's a list with groups, messages, events and Close Friends. I click that and voila! New posts by closer friends are in my news feed.

I'm not exactly sure what is involved with subscribing. But the thing on the left shows my friends who commented on pics, status, etc. of people who I have no idea are. If I comment on someone's staus and that person has it set to public or friends of friends, then they can see what I wrote. I hate that.
Or maybe I'm just confused.

Eh. We'll get used to it, like we have gotten used to all of the other changes.
The 100000 complaints about it in everyone's status annoy me more than the changes, honestly.

It's a change, I dont like change but I'll eventually get used to it. I only find it mildly annoying at the moment, probably after a few days I wont even remember how it was before.
I dont have the patience to figure out all the new features or the subscription feature so I'm just like whatever.

No, this is a little different. I always had friends on different lists that I named & organized but these are FB's categories. It works the same but b/c it's their thing it defaults to the sidebar. I treat it as a sub-list - if I take someone out of the Closest Friends category, they will still be on the friend list I created such as LIF or in your case "cool". :)

That's how it always was on mine.
Ive only had that for a few days on mine... eta: you were always able to put people in a category but the categories were never part of the home page the way they are now

since fb is blocked on my work pc i need to use my phone app hootsuite or yahoo. to get updates.
as of now all 3 display the time it post not this crap everyone is talking about.
thank god i dont use fb at home that much. im so not looking foward to this.

Facebook is also adding a "Subscribe" feature, where people can get updates from other Facebook members in their news feed even if they're not in their friend network -- much in the way people can follow anyone they want on Twitter.
Users can also opt to allow others outside of their friend network to subscribe to their public updates.
These Subscribe feeds can be customised in several ways: To see only photos, for example, or only updates on important events.
