I agree change is good and who are we to complain about a FREE site that is pretty useful.
However, I want to be 100% private not with little unpriavte loopholes. Like a small hole in the wall of a girls' shower!
Not that I post anything I am ashamed f but it's too Big Brother to me.
But yes, I take that chance being on there!

FB has this new friend list feature where you can classify friends (for lack of a better term): Close Friends, Acquaintances, etc.
I put all the people I want to keep up with the most in the Close Friends category. This is in addition to any other catergory they may be in (LIF friends, HS Friends, Family - which I would not change b/c they are sure to change this feature at some point too  ) - it's a mix of the people I am closest to. Then on the left side of the news feed there's a list with groups, messages, events and Close Friends. I click that and voila! New posts by closer friends are in my news feed.
They always had this. I have a list called "cool" of my nearest and dearest.
No, this is a little different. I always had friends on different lists that I named & organized but these are FB's categories. It works the same but b/c it's their thing it defaults to the sidebar. I treat it as a sub-list - if I take someone out of the Closest Friends category, they will still be on the friend list I created such as LIF or in your case "cool". :)
 That's how it always was on mine.
Ive only had that for a few days on mine... eta: you were always able to put people in a category but the categories were never part of the home page the way they are now
Yes! And I also get notifications every time someone in this group posts a new status or photo so I don't have to scroll through the feed.
I don't get notifications for friends that are not in this Close Friends group unless I post on the same status or if it's on my own status. Although, I could have changed some setting way back when ever so I don't get those notifications.

They are a company that continues to better their product.
Get over it, or stop using it! Everyone said the same thing last time they changed! (you know, the old new layout they you miss so much now)

it's annoying but i'll deal with it.
i just feel bad for the older users (think the youtube vid of the grandparents trying to figure out the webcam).
and my mom...i'm going to have to re-teach her AGAIN.

More changes coming
from the F8 conference yesterday
I showed DH the pic and he said it looked like Google plus's front page. It is too cluttered for my tastes. And it seems like they are emphasizing apps and connecting every part of everything in your entire life.
