Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

It kind of seems like a waste to me since they have the gowns and I won't have to worry about washing the gowns (I hear things can get pretty gross! Chat Icon ). I'm thinking of saving space and not bringing any pjs but just bringing a robe to the hospital. Is that crazy?

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

UGH I felt so gross in those gowns and could not wait to have actual real clothes on.

I would bring some just in case...

And nothing too gross happened to me. I thought it would be nasty like people said, but wasnt any worse than a period.

I only wore the gown the first day and then put pj's on for the others ( I was a c-section)

You get visitors, take tons of pics etc....I wasn't comfortable in the gown , it gets all cockeyed and twisted in the hospital bed too Chat Icon

I only wore the gown the first night with my 1st 2 babies. So for this one I planning to bring pj's or sweats at minimum for lounging in the next day in. Plus with my first my son was in the NICU and I was constantly walking up and down the halls - I wouldn't have wanted to do that in my gown and robe. I wore my pj's and robe for that.

Same for me. I wanted to feel normal, and being in a hospital gown that barely covers your azz is not feeling normal. Plus I hate not having pants on.

Maybe if I wasn't having a c-section. But being there for 4-5 days, you are going to want your own clothes.

Personally I think you wil want your own clothes/pjs.

For me the first night I slept in their gown (I had a c/s) and then the next morning I got up cleaned up put on my clothes then slept in my pjs and it was much more comfy!

ETA: nothing too gross happened to me either. The first night was very heavy but after that the flow was managable IMO.

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I used the gowns the first 2 days when I felt really crappy and didn't care about clothes.

After that I definitely wanted my own clothes and glad I had them. I just brought clothes I didn't really care about, made sure they were loose, and comfy.

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I wore the hospital gown the first day as well. Once I took a shower, I changed into my own comfy PJS. I think one pair is enough.

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I'm going to bring some leggings to wear. I'm bringing only black pants so that if anything gets messed up it won't be so obvious if I have to wait a little until they get washed. When I am flowing heavy, I like to have pants on because I feel like it helps keep the pad in place (totally in my head, but it works for me Chat Icon).

I will be bringing my own. Moreover, I want to look decent somewhat. I HATE the hospital gowns.

I needed my PJs, I feel way too exposed in a hospital gown!

After the first time I got up (that was a mess) it was fine, I didn't ruin any of my stuff.

I was fine in a gown for both my kids. I wore another one backwards for a robe.

(I had 2 c/s)

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I get what your saying, but sometimes hospital rooms can get pretty cold. I was freezing b/c of hormonal changes. Bring a pair of comfy PJs and some warm socks, just in case you want them.

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I couldn't wait to get the gown off of me. The first day I stayed in it, but after that I felt so much better in my own clothes. I would def. recommend bringing pjs, being that they take up little to no space in a bag.

ETA: We also had about 50+ visitors. I wanted to look somewhat presentable for them.

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I have not been in L&D to have to wear a gown but I have been in the ER - I was freezing and very uncomfy in the gown. I am thinking of buying just black cheap larger comfy sweatpants so that I can hang out in those and feel better
If they get ruined I won't care as long as I don't spend a lot of $$ on them

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

i was in my own clothes right away - DS was in the NICU and I was walking across the hospital to get to him 8 times a day - there's no way I would've done that in a gown.

my pjs were yoga pants, sports bras and tees from target, not an actual pajama set.
