Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I wore the gown the first night (I delivered at 5:49 p.m.) and put on my own pajamas after I showered the next morning. I will do the same this time.

everyone is different - I insisted they take every single tube out of my body ASAP and let me shower -
I was the lunatic that got in trouble b/c I got up to pee by myself and took a shower alone before I was supposed to -
You could not have paid me to stay in those gross hospital gowns !!

I only wore the gown the first day and then put pj's on for the others ( I was a c-section)

You get visitors, take tons of pics etc....I wasn't comfortable in the gown , it gets all cockeyed and twisted in the hospital bed too Chat Icon

I couldn't have put it better. Plus it was nice to have my own nightgown on Chat Icon

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I brought a bunch of clothes and never wore any of them. I ended up with a c-section. I didn't want anything near my incision. The gown was fine and it was easy to BF with it. I wore a new gown each day. I personally didn't care at all about wearing my own clothes.

I don't think I could do this, only because I have severe anxiety over hotels, the sheets and blankets, and I know I'm going to be freaking out with the hospital sheets and blankets, and I need to have my own clothing on to try to protect myself from the sheets as much as possible.

i was in my own clothes right away - DS was in the NICU and I was walking across the hospital to get to him 8 times a day - there's no way I would've done that in a gown.

my pjs were yoga pants, sports bras and tees from target, not an actual pajama set.

I did a lot of walking back and forth too. I didn't want to stay in my bed all day, and I would have felt weird walking around in only a hospital gown. And seeing visitors too, I just wanted my normal clothes.

UGH I felt so gross in those gowns and could not wait to have actual real clothes on.

I would bring some just in case...

And nothing too gross happened to me. I thought it would be nasty like people said, but wasnt any worse than a period.

Agreed! I had to wear the gown for a day and a half.. (I was there for 4 nights with a C-section). I couldn't wait to get in regular pj's...the hospital gowns are the worst!!

If you're planning on nursing you'll want a nursing tank top on hand.

The gowns are so uncomfy to me...the back is always open and if your sharing a room your neighbor and thier visitors will see your goods lol...I would bring a few gowns or sets.

Im going to bring some just because i cant stant hospital gowns.
Im going to go to a cheap store like rainbow or Walmart or something and get some cheap PJs that I wouldn't mind throwing away after.

Re: Is anyone thinking of NOT bringing pjs for the hospital?

I brought PJs and Yoga Pants and t-shirts. Not maternity size, just bigger than my normal size.

I wore the gown while in labor-and the first night. That's it.

I showered and dressed every day-even put on a little makeup and dried my hair a bit. I just need to do these things to feel normal. When the nurse staff came in they would actually ask me if I was the patientChat Icon

I couldn't wait to get the gown off of me. The first day I stayed in it, but after that I felt so much better in my own clothes. I would def. recommend bringing pjs, being that they take up little to no space in a bag.

ETA: We also had about 50+ visitors. I wanted to look somewhat presentable for them.

Ditto to all of this.
