Is it safe to bring a 10 week old baby to visit someone in the hospital?
I believe we would be in the oncology unit-- but, if it was a short visit and I kept her with me the whole time, is this safe? Or should I leave her with someone?

I wouldnt do it. If you have someone to leave the baby with, leave her. Why take the chance with all the germs in the hospital. JMHO

No, I wouldn't bring a NB to a hospital unless absolutely necessary - too many germies floating through the halls and she's too young to be exposed to all that.

I had to when DS was 8 weeks. My dad had a seizure and a stroke while driving, and had an accident. The paramedics called me from the accident scene. I kept him covered with a blanket for a majority of the time and as soon as my brother and sil got there, my sil took him home to my parents house. If I had anyone to watch him, I would not have, but it was a frantic moment. Luckily he did not catch something.

I took DS when he was 10 weeks old to visit my uncle who had a heart attack. We just left him in the infant carrier and when we walked through the hallways we covered him with a blanket. He was fine.

I wouldn't in most situations but it depends on who it is. My GF's father was daignosed with Stage 4 cancer around the time she had her DS and she did bring the baby to the hospital a few times in the end bc it was his grandson and he did later pass away when the baby was 3 mths old. Sorry, i hate to share that sad outcome when you have a friend or family member in the oncology wing but if it was someone that close, I probably would.
