The hospital had the wipes that are dry and you wet at the sink. After that we used Pampers Sensitive (a box full), now we use Target's sensitive unscented wipes.

The hospital gave us dry wipes that we wet at the sink. When we returned home from the hospital we used Pampers Sensitive unscented and then proceeded to Babys R Us Unscented which happen to be my favorite....the scented are great too....I use them every once in a while as well Chat Icon

We used wipes in the hospital and at home. Someone told me no wipes but we had no problems at all.

same here. the NICU used either wipes or wet papertowel, depending on which nurse was on.

The NICU used the clothes that you would wet yourself. Then when they came home, what would have been 36 weeks if I was still pregnant with them, we used regular wipes. Never had any issues.

Re: is it true no baby wipes for first couple weeks?

I used the dry wipes with water for both in the hospital and for the first month after my kids were born for both of my kids. I got them at BRU. I then switched to the Pampers sensitive skin unscented wipes after that. I have one other friend IRL who did the same thing, but every other parent that I know of used the regular wipes after they came home from the hospital. I think it is personal preference. I have sensitive skin and worried that my kids would inherit it. Thankfully they did not.

no. I have given birth in 3 different hospitals in 2 different states(Arizona and California) and all 3 hospitals supplied us with regular wet baby wipes.

We used wipes as soon as we got home for the hospital. Started with Pampers because people gave them to us, but now we use Target and love them.

When she gets a little rash now, I dont use wipes, but that's the only time.

Re: is it true no baby wipes for first couple weeks?

That is what we did in the hospital and for a few weeks. my Dr. suggests this bc their skin is sensitive in the beginning. I don't think it's something you absolutely have to do though.

We used wipes as soon as we came home from the hospital. In the hospital they gave us wash cloths that were like sand paper so if DS pooped, we returned him to the nursery.

the hospital gave us some of the dry cloths to wet and we use paper towels for the first month or so
found that Viva was the nicest to use...I would just cut them up to a size I liked and wet them with warm water

I tried not to use them, but I think that after day 3/diaper change 189213335 I sent dh out to pick up a big box of wipes lol I just made sure to pat ds' heiney with a dry washcloth afterwards to dry him off before closing up his dipe and luckily he was fine.

No way was I going to be wetting paper towels- running back and forth to the sink with a newborn.

We never had one issue.
