No, you're not the only one. I kind of take offense by being called "Aryan". All 3 of us, me, DH, and DD are blonde and blue eyed.
Us too, we're all fair-haired and light-eyes over here too. Not a fan of the term in this context really either.
Add me to the offended list as well.

I really think the OPs use of the word "aryan" is not right. That isn't a word that should be used lightly. It is one thing to say that you have a bunch of fair skinned babies, but I think aryan is not a good word.
I am glad I did not enter DS then. Apparently he is an Aryan too. Rather ironical term since DS happened to be blond and blue eye. Although interesting to call him that since his daddy is Jewish and his mommy is French.

I do think they all look alike but I think they all knew ahead of time what type of child they were looking for.
But Aryan is just an awful word to use.

Well, I was going to say that it's nice that they don't have to be politically correct...but then I opened the link...not only do the kids all look alike, but they are not even that cute!

I dont agree with the posters choice of words...However, I do think its a big deal...if they wanted a certain look, then come out and say it...dont waste everyones time with senseless contests.

Well then my daughter, blonde and blue eyed must be Aryan also!  It's not really a great thing to say...
I think all of these children are beautiful and so is the winner. Just because they resemble eachother in a similar way doesn't mean LIVE has any 'secret agenda'... it's a contest for children. All children are beautiful in my eyes.
I am happy for them and their families!!

Its sad to sad but once you enter these contests kids are judged harshly. When DD#1 modeled our Agent told us to grow tough skin. She lost out on a job and I was miffed cause they were all gushing how cute she was-well the agent called and told me she didnt get it because they were looking for a "not so attractive child"
To TOP I get what you mean-the term Aryan but I think alot of people are reading into it since the definition does have a negative connotation.
Ella I think is adorable but sorry some of the finalists are blown away by other babies that entered.
Also just becuase America votes it does not mean that its the child(Children) that win. I have friends in the marketing industry and there's alot people dont know about contests like these.

Well IMO, there are A LOT of "easy words" to describe a "certain type of look" and I can tell you that if ANY of those "other" words were mentioned to describe someone else, there would be some SERIOUS repercussions for using those words. So yes, it's VERY offensive to me and my child and my husband, as blonde haired, blue eyed people to be called "aryan".
And for the record, to clarify what I just said - I DO NOT believe in "type casting" ANY person for what they look like by using a certain "word".

totally agree. maybe not the best choice of words, but i believe that the OP was using it to describe a certain look, and not to associate that look with anything bad. i really don't think flaming is in order here... jmo

I saw this on Wikipedia as well- but lets be honest. No one will likely spout off the "true meaning" behind the word. I (and MOST others) attribute this word to negative feelings- Hitler love of an Aryan race, and the "Aryan Nation" (a white supremist group. It became something negative through consequence.
I was a towhead (another term for blond that could have been used) with blue eyes. My DD is also a fair skinned, blue-eyed blond. I think the term Aryan is a little offensive (as do a number of other posters). If it is offensive to people- then it is an offensive term- nuff said.
As for people claiming that some of those babies aren't cute.... SHAME ON YOU!!!!! ALL babies are beautiful, whether they are diverse or not.
The winners were voted on by America no? Sour grapes anyone?

Everyone is discussing whether or not the term used was offensive but noone has mentioned the SPECIFIC comments on whether or not the babies are cute (and whether they are funny looking)
so the SPECIFIC comments get no feedback, but the "maybe offensive" HAS to be offensive...
