For me.. it's worth it.
Yeah.. it can be a money pit but it's MY money pit.
One of the greatest feelings is sitting on my deck with a cup of coffee at sunrise. I look out at that small slice of the world and think "This is mine." It's not much - I don't have an ocean view or 3 acres of woods or a built in pool and spa. It's a tiny postage stamp with grass and roses and forsythia and swings.. but it is my postage stamp and it really makes me happy.
I feel like this also. We are so proud of our house, it's like our baby. We worked hard to get it and work hard to keep it nice and we appreciate the ability to own it.

I love my house and all the work that comes with it. When I lived in an apartment I had nothing to do and I could do nothing to make it mine. Couldn't paint or have pets. I personally love the fact that I have privacy. I love decorating and painting, the renovations, gardening. A house is tons of work and it's an ongoing project. I say if your not up to it, rent.
