Is this cheesy? ( Easter related)

I bought beautiful baskets last yr and they cost a pretty $ I was thinking of telling the kids we need to leave the basket out on the table for the Easter bunny to fill them ! Do you think it's cheesy?

Re: Is this cheesy? ( Easter related)

Not at all! That's what we did every year growing up. I can't imagine buying a new basket each year!

Re: Is this cheesy? ( Easter related)

That is what my parents did every year.

We would leave the baskets out on the table, and the Easter Bunny would fill it with grass and candy. (Never got any toys)

Re: Is this cheesy? ( Easter related)

funny thaat you should post this...I was thinking of getting DS a personalized "nicer" basket next year, and was thinking that I would do the same....tell him that we need to leave the basket out. I think it makes perfect sense Chat Icon

Ok I totally love you for posting this. I suspect Joseph is going to check the closet where he found last year's baskets & eggs - and didn't know how to handle it & I'll be damned if I'm buying more baskets.

Last year he suggested I store the eggs from our hunt in the closet that we keep plastic eggs inChat Icon
Genius!! Thank you! Thank you!

Re: Is this cheesy? ( Easter related)

I wanted to add to this post about eggs. My parents left out the hardboiled eggs in the carton, and the plastic eggs for the Easter Bunny to hide. The Easter Bunny filled all of our plastic eggs with candy, and hid them.

So there was never any questioning why there where eggs and baskets in the house. They were there so the Easter Bunny didn't have to carry them. They were already at our house.

Re: Is this cheesy? ( Easter related)

We've done this EVERY year! They love it!

This year their baskets are kind of destroyed so we got new ones... but next year we go right back to leaving out the baskets!

that's what we did growing up...it was an antique basket from my grandmother. Mom decorated it and it sat out waiting to be filled. i never thought there was another way.

My parents always used the same baskets and we NEVER noticed or even paid attention. Kids forget a lot in a year.....

Um, to me, that is what you do.....you use the same basket every year.

Believe me, the landfills (our earth) will thank you for recycling....
