Is This Even Possible (theme park related)

okay so, backstory....

Emma was born on June 3rd 2009 (she'll be 2), Dave's birthday is June 4th.

I came up with the idea of taking off Friday and we could go to Dorney Park - since they just opened Planet Snoopy...thinking it's the best of both worlds... Dave can go on his crazy rides & Emma can go on Planet Snoopy stuff...

BUT

I just realized we could hit Sesame Place instead....hopefully, it'd be less crowded...since school is still in session, etc...

THEN i thought...

what if we did BOTH the same day...here is my question...IS THIS DO-ABLE????

we would get to Sesame when they opened (or relatively close to it) and do what we want to do. They CLOSE at 6:00 PM. (we would likely want to leave by 5:30).

Get in the car - Emma will likely nap now and it will take us an hour to get to Dorney.

We do Dorney with Twilight admission and spend 3 hours there & head home. Dorney is only 45 minutes from our house...so it's not a huge drive home.

Would we be ABSOLUTELY insane to try and pull this off?

eta: emma's age :) - she'll be 2

I'm not even close to taking Ds to a theme park yet...but I do think it might be a bit much for 1 day. But honestly it really depends on if you think you, DH and DD can handle it KWIM. I know I wouldn't be able to do it and Ds would get cranky after a certain time.

i say since Dorney is close to your house make a day of it another day and you can have more time to enjoy it fully.

WOW!! While on paper is sounds great, you're not counting in traffic, lines, parking, meals, etc. It seems a bit too much to me. Why not do it on two seperate days since Dorney is only 45 minutes from your house?

That would be too much for me to do. I can't even imagine how tired it would make a 2 year old!

trying to make both Dave & Emma happy...

and because i'd have to take another day off to hit Dorney or Sesame.. Dave works weekends, he can get an occasional Sunday off, but we would have to do weekdays only....because of his work schedule...

I would just do Dorney Park so they both can do fun things (although we have a great time at sesame too). Doing both parks is WAY to much for a 2 year old IMO

Waaaaay to much for one day! Besides, they are in opposite directions from each other.

For my DS it would be too much in one day. He still needs his naps, in a cool place.

Maybe Dave would just be happy going to Sesame place and watching DD have fun on all the rides there? I know, for me, watching DS get excitement out of things is waaaay more fun than going to an amusement park for myself.

I'd probably do Sesame for one day and pick another day during the summer to go to Dorney. Chat Icon

I like to maximize my time too, plus DH and I never have off on the same days so for us to go to Dorney or Sesame, one of us must take a day off from work. So trust me, I totally understand where you're coming from!

That said, I would just pick one. On paper it sounds like it would work, but in reality, anything can happen, Emma could be beyond pooped after the first park, you may want to stay longer, whatever. Pick one and have a great time. Hopefully you can do the other later in the summer! Chat Icon

I think its way to much for one day. I would just do Dorney. Then they both can have fun, plus if its hot you can cool off in the waterpark (which is included in your admission price)

If you really only have 1 day, I would even suggest Six Flags. Dave can get all his rides in, there is a ton for Emma to do and she will get to see a lot of characters!

I would do Dorney over Sesame. The new Snoopy area looks AMAZING! and it's likely not as busy as Sesame would be on a Friday. Plus your husband can ride adult rides also.

Your daughter will have fun at Dorney! We were there Sunday and Monday (1/2 hour from my house). My kids are 2,4 and 6 and all had so much fun. They did a great job revamping Camp Snoopy with a bunch more rides. My 2 yo was able to go on all but 2. Also the water park has a bunch a kid pools which my kids love!

We were just there on Saturday. DD had a blast! This was my first time at dorney too. I loved the fact that inside Planet Snoopy there is a family station that has bathrooms it's own diaper changing area, a room with gliders for nursing moms and a little area with kiddie chairs/couches with a tv and books. They also have a fridge and microwave. It was really nice not to have to use the gross bathrooms to change my kids, and it was nice to ge out of the heat and into AC for a bit
