Kerie, whenever possible, just tell them the due date and leave it at that. I wouldn't even mention that I am having a planned c-section unless it is something you have already told them.
Here's another for you
I do that, usually, but for people who may either visit the hospital or come to the bris, I want to tell them that the date is more certain than if I were going naturally. There are also clients who deserve to know when I am going out, but they have been wonderful about it, better than my close friends, especially now that I have my work backup in place.

Kerie, I don't think it's rude at all. I too had to go through these questions, especially from my family. I am still fielding crap from them because of my complications. They keep asking if I HAD to do it. People need no explanation. All I said was that it was necessary to ensure the safety of my baby and me. If they pressed for more info, I didn't give any more info. You are not rude with your answer at all. I know you can be rude, so bring it on!

BTW. and thanks to all who answered, by FM and on this thread. When I posted I did not expect to get as much concern as I got!!! I know that I will be okay and that I have to learn that if I piss someone off, it is probably b/c they asked for it.

I would just say, "Honestly, I'm kind of tired of talkign about it." Especially if it's your friends. I would totally say that to my friends and HAVE about other things. No one gets offended and they the point
