It's starting to feel real!!!!! (moving to FL)
We found a great apartment in FL, got approved and mailed in our deposit!
DH gave 2 weeks notice at his job this morning.
Movers are coming today to do an estimate.
DH has an interview lined up for when we get down to FL in May!
It still didn't hit me yet though... those that relocated, when did it hit you? I feel like it won't until we're actually there.

we have been talking and talking about it
but I am not sure it's ever going to happen- and I am so impressed that you guys are just doing it
I can't wait to hear an update about what happens when you guys get down there-
you are going to be so tan all year - I am going to hate you!

I moved to TX about 7 years ago, and it didn't hit me until I actually got there.
I was so excited to get down there, but when I did I was like "holy crap!!". It took a while to adjust.
Needless to say I came back. But, you never know how you will feel until you just do it.
Good luck with the move!! It could be the best decision you make...you won't know until you try it.

Great news Jess!!! I WISH I could make a move like that. My DH's business is based on Staten Island, so moving out of state is completely out of the question for me. Lots of luck!!! Im counting the days down with ya!!

Congrats and good luck. I have done my fair share of OOT moves. It usually hits me after I moved.
What part of FL?
DH and I were looking at and talking about moving to FL while planning our wedding--we were going to move right after (as in last summer). But 1-the job he was interviewing for fell thru and 2-I got knocked up!!

We had been talking about moving to FL for the last 2 years. DH's parents have a condo there, his brother is there, my best friend is in west palm..... and about 90% of DH's family is all over Florida (lots of cousins our age, etc).
Every time we go down we don't want to leave and finally decided to just do it. Our lease is up at the end of this month, my job is ending (contract position), DH wanted to find a new job anyway... so the timing was just perfect. Plus, I want to get into teaching and it's much easier to get in down there (don't need a masters, etc).

Thanks Beth! That's how I used to feel... we would talk about it for a couple days then we'd get back in our normal routine and just felt like it would never happen. But the timing was finally right and we both agreed it would be a great move!!!
I'll definitely updated you on everything (and post pics of my tan, hehe)... hopefully it'll be all good news.

It really hit me when we came back from our HM and I started packing up my room....but then the morning that we left...that was def rough...saying bye to my parents...seeing my mom cry..I felt like I was never coming back!

Oh man yea saying goodbye to my mom and dad is going to be really rough!!! I'm not looking forward to that day. I've been living within minutes of both of them for the last 5 years (since out of college). But they already made plans to come down and are coming down for a wedding the week after we get there.

I want to move to Florida as well and DH said he will go . The only problem is that teaching salaries are so pitiful there. I would take a 50% cut in my salary and living really is not much cheaper there anymore. I wish i could say lets just wing it but we have 2 kids to think about
