IUD question
Can you have one put in if you are BFing? I think I'd like an IUD after #2 is born, but I'm planning to BF. Do I have to wait until I stop BFing first?

I am pretty sure you can be nursing if you put the copper one in but I am not sure with the mirena. The copper has no hormones

Both the Paraguard (copper hormone free) and Minera( low dose hormone) are safe while BF. I have the Paraguard and have had no problems and am still BF.

Yes, I got my Mirena in and my OB said it was perfectly safe to BF.

She's right. I have the paraguard and was told I could BF w/it. It did not matter to me by then b/c I was on meds for my heart so continuing to BF was out of the question.
