IUI questions
Hoping some of you can help me
Once I go in for CD12 and it looks like I'm ready to O, I will have a trigger. The doctor gave me a script to get it filled, and I am sooo nervous about having to do this! Does it hurt? Do you do it or does your DH?
Also, how quick is the IUI procedure itself? Does it hurt? Do I need to take a day off work? (I go to LIIVF - Do you know how early they do these procedures?)

Re: IUI questions
The nurse in my RE's office administered the shot for me, I just had to make sure I brought it with me when I would be close to O time. It does not hurt, and I'm a HUGE baby about needles!
The IUI is very quick. IMO it's quicker than a PAP and in my experience not as uncomfortable. In fact, I never feel it when they do it, and it's done so fast. No need to take the day off. On my IUI days I was in and out so quickly, and was in my office 20 minutes later.
G/L!

Re: IUI questions
I was unmedicated so I have no info on the shots.
My experience with IUI was just as the previous poster. Easy if not easier than a pap.
Good luck.

Re: IUI questions
The nurse will give the trigger and it's very quick with a tiny needle. The IUI is totally painless and very quick. On the day of the IUI, the entire appointment takes about an hour so plan accordingly. They IUI's start at around 7AM at LI IVF in Lake Success. You definitely don't need to take the day off from work but you could be a little late depending on when your work day starts.

Re: IUI questions
DH did help me with mine the one month we did injectibles with IUI. No pain or discomfort ever with an IUI for me I think once I felt them inside me and it was because I was lying a bit on my side. I went to NSUH where the procedures were done early. Never missed a day but I was a little late a few times

Re: IUI questions
I did the trigger myself. It pinched a bit but was fine. I couldn't believe I injected myself and it was over within seconds.
As for the IUI, I had some cramping during and after. It was a dull cramp and very tolerable.

Is there a specific timeframe where DH can't "produce a sample" prior to giving a sample for an IUI?
We are going in on Saturday for a SA (we haven't done that yet!!) and I'm worried that if I am ready to ovulate at that time, it might cause a problem if there are restrictions (producing samples to close together).
