Honestly I can't believe some of the posts that I am reading here. There are only 2 people in this world that know what kind of BC if any was used. And even if they did use BC it is not 100% effective. So let's all stop jumping to conclusions and stop criticizing people who have accidental pregnancies. It happens. We can debate till we're blue in the face whether or not a 16 year old should be having sex. We can all go on for days about whether or not they used BC. But the fact is 16 year olds do have sex and they are not always careful. Who are we to judge them? And the next time someone on this board gets pregnant accidentally I want to see how many people flame them for being too stupid for not knowing how to use BC. I guarantee you it will not be a 6 page thread. And personally I would expect a married 20-30 year old woman to understand more about BC than I expect a 16 and an 18 year old to understand.

I agree with your point and yes, adults know more about BC than teenagers, but I think what most people are really feeling is "How the heck do you NOT learn from the mistakes of your sister???" Didn't mom have the talk after Spawn of K-fed #2 surprised them? I don't think anyone wishes her harm but when you have someone is your family who screwed up his or her life, don't you vow not to follow? It's not a regular 16 year old girl. A regular 16 year old girl, you feel bad for. They have no chance for a REALLY long time to have a sense of normalcy. They have no money, no opportunities to get an education, no teenage hood to discover the world, no hope of getting back on track for a real long time. This is a celebrity who had so much ahead of her AND an idiot sister (sorry so harsh) who would probably in her right mind say, "Take care of yourself and don't let any man destroy what you have going." I'm sure this is another case of a kid thinking they are invincible rather than vulnerable.
And for the record, I'm sure if she were any of our kids or little sister, the support would be overwhelming, but the feelings of, "What were you thinking?" would still be there.

Re: Jamie Lynn Spears—PREGNANT!
I just hope that magazines do not glorify this too much, which I fear is already happening. Honestly, some sort of birth control was probably used, and it probably didn't work. That's not the point though. I'm not going to say that she was right or wrong to keep the baby. Either way, I'm sure it was a very difficult decision. And, yes, teen pregnancies can work out.
But, the bottom line is, 16 year olds SHOULD NOT be pregnant. I just hope that others don't see the media glorifying this and then make a decision they should not be making.
Know what terrifies me? I work in a K-6 elementary school. The other day the teacher who teaches sex ed got an e-mail from a girl who left the school last year that she has been approached by a boy who wants to have sex with her. She's 12! And now there's all this media attention on a 16 year old who's having a baby. What kind of message does that send?
