Well here are my two cents.
I think being a parent is difficult.
I think being a celebrity (or celebrity sister) is difficult.
I think being a teenager is difficult.
I think being a teenage mother is difficult.
Put those three together, and this girl is up one heck of an uphill battle. That's not to say she can't rise to the occassion and be a great mom (which I hope she does), but the odds are stacked against her.
I think one of the reasons Brittany went beserk is that she never got to grow up and find herself. Granted, any of us could feel like that.
But add the celebrity factor in with it (tons of money, getting in anywhere you want, people "yessing" you all the time) and it makes it all the more challenging to stay grounded.
So I hope she doesn't follow in Brittany's footsteps, but I wouldn't be surprised if she does.

I think part of the reason why people may come down especially hard on Jamie Lynn is because of what an absolute horror her sister turned out to be. If Britney weren't such a train wreck then I think more people would have sympathy for Jamie-Lynn, but since the family is already seen as a nightmare, this new information just adds fuel to the fire.
It shocked me to hear about Jamie Lynn because I would have hoped that given her sister's situation, combined with the fact that she herself is a TV star, she would have taken extra precautions not to throw it all away. However, at least she is taking responsibility for her actions. I hope she learns from her sister's mistakes and is able to actually be a decent mother to her child.

this is a celebrity GOSSIP board - is it not? So who cares if someone is "supportive" or "unsupportive" of a specific celebrity...
We don't know them from a hole in the wall, so I think it's time to just ENJOY and GOSSIP....no need to judge each other's statements.....

I think that with celeibrity comes responsibility. Young celebs should learn this from their parents. This girl is a role model for young girls whether she likes it or not, and she should act accordingly.

There would have been a huge public announcement whether it came from her or not. She doesn't have the choice to be discreet about her pregnancy.
I agree that she and her BF should have been more careful, but why on earth is she the only one getting sh!t for it?  It takes two to get pregnant.
She is a public figure, a celebrity - She makes a LOT of money being a public figure - And her fan base is VERY young, they look up to her, they want to be like her - She deserves support from her friends and her family (as I would support my friend or family member) this random public figure isn't going to get any SUPPORT from me -
I think, in her position she SHOULD have some social responsibility and she should be sensitive to how her life inpacts her fan base. - Is it the ideal situation for her? No, but she likes the fame and the paycheck? Well, there is SOME responsibility that comes with that - So, a 6 page spread in a magazine announcing her pregnancy at 16 years old, in my opinion is irresponsible -
And people will voice their opinions about her b/c who the hell knows are cares who her boyfriend is ?? If HE was famous too, everyone would be all over it -

Its possible, but extremely unlikely.
Using 1 form of birth control does open yourself up to risks, but two forms and to still get pregnant? Like I said, possible but highly unlikely.

Why is she the only one getting **** for it?
Many reasons.
1) one might think she would have learned after seeing her sister's situaton'
2) she is the celebrity, not the BF, so she will take the brunt
3) she is a female, she will carry the child and go through 99% of everything that a man can easily remove himself from if need be
4) she will likely raise the child, BF can go about his life

I understand she has a big young fan base but would you rather her have a 6 page article about how this is the worst thing that ever happened to her? And how she doesn't want the baby? That may not be the best message to send to young children either.
Pregnancy can be the best thing that happens to people even at a young age. As I said I know plenty of women who got pregnant at very young ages, 15 and 16 and they all say that they would not have changed it if they could. Yes they had a hard life and they did not have a "normal life". But as one young mother pointed out to me, now that he daughter is 20, she's only 35 and she still feels like she has her whole life ahead of her and she's got to share most of her life with her daughter. She admits that she's made a lot of sacrifices that she never thought she would have to make but she also loves her life and her daughter is an amazing person. Not every 16 year old mother is a bad person or a bad mother for becoming pregnant. My mother was married and pregnant when she was 18. It was very common 40 years ago. And again, mistakes happen.
No one said she was a bad person...
Stupid and irresponsible, yes, but not bad.
So basically, it's OK for her to be a horrible role model for young women and not learn a damn thing from her sister's mistakes, but because she'll be 36 when her child is 20....and she'll have a whole life ahead of her to probably party with this child.....that makes it all better?
OK, I get it now.......

Yes, of course they do - But the odds of getting pregnant when your on BC AND using a condom (which she SHOULD have been using even if she WAS on BC, she's not married and she's only 16 years old) are pretty slim- (and before you jump on THAT one, YES, it IS possible that she was using every method of BC under the sun, and still got pregnant, but somehoe I doubt that..........)

That was exactly my point, that people will talk about her regardless of whether she made the announcement, or it came from a magazine. You say it is irresponsible for her to have publicized it, but I think it was a good idea. If people are going to talk about you, they might as well get the information straight from you.

I COMPLETELY agree with this. I am assuming that she wasn't as careful as she could have been, and that surprises and disappoints me, especially since it she was the one trying to talk sense into Britney.
