Re: January Moms- Question about layering/clothing
No, no snowsuit. DS was born in February and I say this every time one of these posts come up, but they are outside, from the hospital to the car, for literally a few seconds. I dressed DS in his hospital onesie and a fleece outfit on top with a hat. Put a blanket on top of him in the carseat and that was it. He was more than fine. Remember you don't want them to be overheated either.
For this baby who's due in January I'll be doing exactly the same.

Re: January Moms- Question about layering/clothing
I agree, I would do a warm outfit with a hat (maybe a onesie, fleece feetie pajama) and a blanket on the baby and one thrown over the carrier.
You wait in the hospital, DH pulls the car up and then runs inside, grabs the baby and you go into a nice heated car. When you get home, have the door open before you get out of the car and run right in!
DD is 4 months and i struggle to get her into a snow suit, I can't imagine doing it with a newborn at the hospital LOL

Re: January Moms- Question about layering/clothing
I'm probably going to do a onesie and fleece pjs with something that looks like a snowsuit but its really not heavy at all

DD was born in Jan. Put in her a long sleeve onsies and a knitted one piece outfit over. Just be sure to have a hat!

ITA with all of the above. My twins came home on Jan 3rd and were dressed in a onesie, fleece pj's and blanket/hat.

Re: January Moms- Question about layering/clothing
I have a ton of layers for her so we can see how the weather is that day. Where I live in NC, the weather can vary drastically, so it's possible for it to be 20 degrees out... or 60 degrees!
I have an outfit with a onesie, pants, and little velor-type jacket. I also have a jacket very similar to that bear onesie someone posted (it's just the top half of it). I also packed a blanket along in my hospital bag for her so we can wrap her up in the car seat.
I have a ton of hats too and my friend just made me the most adorable hat for the baby!!!
I'm going to play it by ear otherwise.
