Job interviews
Do you go even if you have a suspicion it's not going to be worth your time because of the salary?

Re: Job interviews
If i know the money is not in my range then i dont bother. Unless I know there is room for negotiation then i go.

Re: Job interviews
Reason I ask, is I came across another job ad posted for the position I have scheduled to interview for tommorrow, that listed the salary. If this is the true salary, it is so not worth it for me to even go because I doubt they are going to do a $25K++salary negotiation with me ;).
AND I have an interview set up for tommorrow afternoon that I know will at least match my current salary because they told me so!

Re: Job interviews
The only way I would go is if I wanted to "practice" my interviewing skills

The interview you have tomorrow that will match your current salary, is that the same one where they wont go 25k +? If it's a different interview than i would go on that one especially if you are truly unhappy with your job now. You never know they might offer you more.
If it's the same interview and you truly want or feel you deserve more money than i would hold out.
I think i just confused myself a little

Re: Job interviews
I have 2 interviews tommorrow. The one in the morning is for the place I found the salary on and it's really low. The one in the afternoon, is where I would prefer to work and know they will pay me at least the same amount I am making now.
ETA: They'd have to pay me at least $25K more then what is advertised to match what I am making now at the one in the morning ;).
Lastly, it's also located on Long Island. I've had Long Island-based companies flat out tell me they can't pay me the same amount I am making, or close to it because "they don't go by NYC salary standards". I'd be willing to continue to commute into the city to avoid a huge pay cut.

Re: Job interviews
I decided not to go..........Besides the interview this afternoon, I have two more tommorrow related to what I'd rather be doing/my current work and one person is supposed to get back to me this week regarding whether or not I have the job.
I sent her an email apologizing for cancelling at the last minute, however, I've been offered a great opportunity elsewhere........

Re: Job interviews
I would only not go on an interview if I knew for SURE that the pay was not up to par.
