Jones Beach Light Show Cancelled
It is in Newsday today, the light show this year has been cancelled. Sounded nice...oh well...

I think they said low attendance? Not profitable enough for them.
They plan to try to get it together again for next year, as it is too late now to reorganize it.

I agree. it was kind of dumb. it was in a parking lot and just didnt look good at all.

We've gone every year.
While it wasn't spectacular, we enjoyed just hanging out, drinking our hot chocolate and having fun together!
I'll miss it!

I wanted to go this year. I have never been to see it, figures this year I made definite plans and they cancel it.

Agreed. I went last year for the first time, and it was pretty expensive, and not so much worth it.

I'm actually not surprised. They changed it last year to the Theatre and it was horrible. It was very short and $$. I liked it better the past years when it was on the highway. Plus it wasn't very dark at the theatre location, so the lights didn't shine as much. The Ecology center one was really good. It was cheap and I thought it was a lot better for the $$.

We took the kids here on Saturday night and it was really cute. It was only $12 per carload so it's not too bad pricewise. We also went inside and took pics with Santa and had some snacks. It was a fun night!
