I give him credit. Facing it head on, accepting he made a mistake and moving forward.

I don't care what anyone says. When a child of 15 years old makes a mistake it is sealed for a reason. So things stupid children do cant haunt them for the rest of their lives.

I find it hard to REALLY judge him on his 15 year old self.

I had to go to MY parents because I woke up 2 nights in a row (when I was 9?) because my brother was coming into my room and touching me....when he was 12. Yes, it was creepy, but it was stopped. I don't think my brother should have a criminal record for that.

ETA: After reading all the comments I added something, but will put it up here as well.

I am not defending him. What he did was wrong.

When things like this hit the news we never get the whole story. We get all the news that we are TOLD is news. We don't ever get the whole story.

ALL I am saying, and yes, I will stand behind it, is that I do find it hard to judge a 27 year old man on what is his child self did.

He was a child when this happened. Did he know right from wrong? Yes. But he was still a child. If he knew better he would be able to think about the consequences of what he was doing. But he was a CHILD when this happened. Those consequences being everything from mentally harming the person you are touching to getting arrested. I don't think he had the capacity to understand EVERYTHING.

It sounds to me like he was curious and started touching. It SEEMS that is all he did. I will absolutely stand corrected if proof comes out it was more. But it SOUNDS like it was just touching. 9Which I do not defend)

And as I said before I can go off of my own experience. I might have been 9-10-11. That makes my brother 12-13-14. He knew better. But I don't think my brother should have been arrested for it, nor have a criminal record. And I don't think because my brother touched me he is abusing HIS daughter who is now 12.

And these girls are not me. It falls to the parents to take care of both the girls and the boys. I cant say how the girls handled it, or if it follows them today.

But I will stand behind my opinion that he was 15 when this happened. He was a child. And I wont judge his 27 year old self on what a curious 15 year old did.

I completely disagree. 15 is old enough to know better, without question. A high school aged boy 100% knows NOT TO touch his SISTERS breasts or genitals.

The thing is the girls probably haven't been to therapy. It's so sad.

Exactly, he wasn't 5, he was 15 and the father waited a YEAR to turn him in.
He was molesting his children? You just ignore that?
It wasn't one person either but at least 5.

Credit for admitting he sexually abused five girls and four of them being his sisters!?! ABSOLUTELY NOT! If he was convicted and sent to jail and then released and had to register as a sex offender people would be concerned this guy is living in their neighborhood. But because he "admitted" it 12 years later makes it ok. Let's chalk it up to him being a teenager and making a mistake. NO!
This is disgusting and this is just one example of people being brainwashed by religion. They are no better than the people who follow Warren Jeffs.

ETA that I don't think the religious brainwashing caused him to be a sexual predator. I believe that because the parents are brainwashed to speak to their church elders before going to the police is absolutely disgusting.

Add that to the dehumanization of women and that their sole purpose is for reproduction makes all of this that much worse. Who knows what this kid was exposed to by his father and the male members of their Christ loving community.

Ages of his sisters when this occurred. He molested 4 out of 5 of them and it was said that the one who wasn't molested was nearing the age of being able to obtain a GED. So he molested a 4 year old. A.4.year.old. He's a disgusting person and I hope he rots in hell.

EXACTLY! I wonder if this is why Jana is not married at 25 unlike the others who married so much earlier....I wonder if she was a victim and it effected her more. I don't know how a brother could ever do that to a sister. It's incest. If someone is doing it in secret, they know it's forbidden. No matter the age. I feel for all the girls he touched.

Sorry. But at 15 you know not to touch your sister. As someone who dealt with this issue.... There is never an excuse. Never. And it can't be blamed on religion and surpressinf sexual desire. Touching your sisters genitals while they are sleeping is wrong. Everyone knows that. I also am a firm believer that once a sexual deviant... Always a sexual deviant. It's not curable. I know it may not be the popular thing to hear but sadly I have more experience with this than I will ever reveal here.

when i first heard these rumors surface a few days ago, i thought they were about John David for some reason, not Josh.
I didn't even know it was that many girls he had molested, I only knew it to be one! and I definately didn't know it was his sisters!
Someone said that if you read the transcript, you can try to piece together which of the sisters it was, where is this transcript? or where can it be found?
And why is this coming out now? how did this even come to light?

I'm not saying that he can't have gotten better and mended his ways, but he really did get married a few years afterwards and have children right away. For his childrens sakes, i really hope Anna is watching him vigilantly.
I know all teenagers, boys and girls are sexually curious. However, its one thing to be curious about sex and another alltogether to molest your siblings or anyone else in secret. Keeping it hidden proves you know it is wrong to begin with.

Sorry but I cannot understand how anyone thinks he should get a free pass Bc he was 15 or 17 when he molested 5 little girls the youngest being 4. His parents should be charged as well for not protecting their daughters and letting him around them again.

If a 15Yo touched my daughter I would strangle him to death and not think twice. At 15 yu know right from wrong and you know it's wrong to shoot up your school, to do drugs, to kill someone, to rape someone, to commit armed robbery, to molest little girls.

BIG difference between sexual experimentation between children and molestation. He is filth.

Eta - I love how they're against gays Bc it's immoral. Yet all the gays I know aren't child molestors. I knew from the start something was wrong with this family. They're sickos.

I don't know how anyone could defend him. At that age you know right from wrong! He should have been punished according to the law.

I don't know how Anna could have married him knowing that happened in his past. I hope she never leaves her children alone with him.


I feel bad for his sister and the other victim that the report got out. Now everyone knows what happened to them and who they are. I'm sure this is very hard for them with all the media going crazy with this story now.
