Just sad about our family pets
My parents had to put our two family dogs down within two weeks of each other in November. They were 13 and 14, so they were very much a part of the family. It's just really sad this time of year because our older dog totally got excited for Christmas. She had a stocking and when we woke up to open presents she would get so excited, running up and down the hall, tail wagging, running up to her stocking.
Today DH and I grabbed lunch before we headed to my mom and dad's to do laundry. I reminded myself not to put the food bag too close to the edge of the table so the dogs wouldn't get it...and then got sad. My mom made ribs for dinner, and I was about to remind DH to not leave the bones out, to throw them right out so the dogs wouldn't get them. And again, caught myself.
It's just sad that there are so many reminders at once.

They are so much a part of the family and it hurts so much when we lose them. I am so sorry for your loss
