It's a new law -- all places have to post the calories with the menu items. It really does put things in perspective.
I believe it is a city law. I think LI franchises are exempt but I could be wrong.
I'm not sure. I live/work in the city so I am starting to see it everywhere now.
I had a 370 calorie Whopper Junior in Bayside, Queens today. All calorie counts were right next to the items. The Taco Bell in New Hyde Park had no calorie count listed at all.
Hey that's where I was! The one on Northern by the Cross Island? I was there around 5:30.

I liked it better before they started posting the calories - I knew things were bad for me, but having it right in my face is disturbing.
I was discussing this with a coworker the other day, and we were saying that I doubt the people who eat this stuff every day are affected by it - they don't care. Its the people who generally eat healthy and eat this stuff once in awhile that see the calorie counts and walk out. I have a muffin from Dunkin Donuts maybe once every other month. I went in there awhile back and saw the muffin was over 600 calories. I couldnt do it, I walked out. But I honestly think most of the people who have a muffin or donut every day are still doing it.
I completely agree with all of your points!
