Re: Keeping track of poops and feedings
I never wrote anything down. I fed her on demand (still do) and as for poops I know it can vary day to day.

Re: Keeping track of poops and feedings
We did-for like 2 months. I don't know why we did it that long, it's not like we were trying to schedule her. Maybe to keep track for when the doctor asked?

Re: Keeping track of poops and feedings
i did for the first week to 10 days. I had to in the hospital (the nurses made me because she was rooming with me and they would come and ask.) I kept it up at home until I felt BFing was fully established.

Re: Keeping track of poops and feedings
I keep a log of feedings and how much sleep she is getting. I also keep track of poopie diapers since she has been constipated. I just keep a log in a notebook.

I do the same I stopped with the wet and poop diapers around 10 weeks but I still to this day do the bottle feeding times and how many oz a day!! It just keeps me in control and I can see what was different on certain days. I like being organized so it helps.

Re: Keeping track of poops and feedings
DD is 2.5 wks and I am still doing it-she lost a lot of weight the first few days...maybe after tomorrow's md appt if she gained I will stop...although it does help me gauge when she will be waking up to eat again-so I may keep doing it.

Re: Keeping track of poops and feedings
I did it for a day and then stopped...now I just monitor his feedings to see how much he takes in total a few days before his Drs. visit. This way I can tell them how much he is eating. As far as diapers, if I noticed that he wasn't wetting every diaper, I would just call the ped anyway.

Re: Keeping track of poops and feedings
we never did... the only thing i tried to keep track of was if ds pooped... but since i am a sahm i change 95% of teh diapers... i know my mother thought it was odd when i asked her after she watched him if he pooped... we had pooping issues a couple of times so i like to know if he has gone or not
