I saw the big announcement in today's Newsday. I can't wait until he wakes up to find the generousity of the people around him.
Looks like he has angels around him - firemen, new sponsors & last but not least...his sister.

I just saw the BIG announcement in Newsday & I can honestly say I am so happy for you guys!!!! It goes to show you how local people truly want to reach out to your family Your brother is going to be floored when he hears about how many people were pulling for him & how wonderful the support has been!!!!

tah-dah! the big surprise was revealed - my little angel nephew is going to be taken care of in such a wonderful way. my brother was JUST saying like TWO weeks ago how he wants to start really saving for his college and how it is so important - unbelievable!

I'm new to this site, but your brother's story has just completely captivated me. I keep checking back for changes, and I'm praying for your brother and your family. Especially his son! What a trooper! It's so great your family is getting this support, you absolutely deserve it. You'll have tons of stories to tell Kenneth when this is over :)

Amazing update
I'm also looking forward to you meeting your fireman. I know when my sister was hit by a DD with a Jr. License, we got to meet the volunteer firefighter that showed up on site and talked her through getting cut out of the car with the jaws of life. Thank God she's ok today but it was a long road. It was amazing to meet him though....and to say thank you and hug him was a gift for my whole family. i'm praying for your brother and all of you

Many prayer's to your brother, My Mom ask's everyday how your brother is doing, I told my mom it was a girl i talk to through a site , That it was 'Your" Brother, My Mom and Dad are keeping your brother in their prayer and hoping for a speedy recovery, If you ever need anything I'm here for you, And tomorrow Dh and I are going to Belmont so if there are 'ANY' bets for Big Brown I will definetely put money towards the donation, I would like to try and Help you in any way i can, Please dont hestitate to ask, I'm here..

bump for 5/25/08 update.
a big thanks to mr. suozzi, the commish and the ENTIRE nassau county police dept for what they have done and are going to be doing this entire weekend!!! they arrested 44 people last night alone -- and they are only doing ONE checkpoint, in ONE area, for a few hours!!!!!! and there is a big neon sign saying "SOBER STATION" duhhh!!!! and we still got 44 people - scary! so, more tonight & tomorrow i'm sure.

It was awesome being able to talk to you to day! remember sweeite to take care of yourself too! i know like i said easier said then done but of all people i understand the pain of waiting!!!!! also like I said by this time nest week I have strong feeling we will hear fromyou saying he spoke to you!!!!I am here antime day or night! Your family & yourself have tremedous strength & you will get through this. Like you said, it is not that your brother can't wake up, they don't want him to so that he wil be better off in the end
I think it is a great idea that Nassau County will be releasing photos of all those that get caught over this weekend. Too many people are careless & people like your brother, just doing their job, get injured & have to go through this!!!!

I heard about this on the news the other night. He truly is an angel and was meant to do good things with his life.
It's good to see you home early and getting some much needed rest and alone time with your DH.
My heart truly goes out to you and your family. I know all to well what you are going through. Reading your updates bring back so many memories for me.
And I look at DH today and see how far he's come and I know Kenneth will also.
Like DH he's young, strong, healthy and received care immediately after the accident. ALL important rolls for his recovery.
Continued for Kenneth's recovery.
