hmm - yeah, pretty much.
actually, they haven't even had to give him pain meds in the last few days -- it is just steady doses of antibiotics and stuff like that... he looks good (aside from being SO thin) but he just needs to kick this infection.
they are doing tests right now that we should get back very soon to see WHERE the infection is and WHAT it is exactly. they cultured all of his little holes -- for ports, IV's, etc... they want to make sure they cover all bases in order to find out WHERE this is coming from and what is causing it.
once we know that - we'll know better on just how to kick it's asss!

well, yesterday was a "tough" day so i was there early when i was planning on staying home for the afternoon to get some normal life things done but then when it turned out to be a bad day i had to go up to be there for my mommer. now that today is, SO FAR, better - i'm attempting my chores now! so, i will be there later on but i'm not sure when. it is so nice of you to offer to come up and i really appreciate that - the support does A LOT. as for his alertness - well, he is pretty alert when he is not on a lot of meds but they do keep him "comfortable" with pain stuff and it seems like just when he is getting off the pain stuff and becoming REALLY alert they do another freaking procedure but :::KNOCK WOOD::: the last one he had (two days ago) SHOULD BE HIS LAST.
the anesthesia kicks his butt b/c he is a cheap drunk (lol) ... but when alert and sometimes even when groggy and drugged he is giving us two fingers when we ask, one finger when we ask, never the middle finger which is a great thing lol we are always worried about pissssing him off too much. he holds and squeezes our hands, rubs our arm almost to console us! he cradles my mom and my face -- he tugged at her sweater last night lol that was cute. so, he is pretty responsive as well as moving BOTH legs A LOT and both arms all over -- even the "affected" side.
so, we are hopeful and so are the docs.
any visitors are always welcomed - they will never dismiss anyone. we have strangers come up to well wish or pray and then people we know very well. we are on the second floor until he goes to rehab (PLEASE GOD SOON!) and we have the family room up there and whoever comes up sees all the get well stuff right away.

Sorry to hear about his seizure but I'm glad it was a small one and common among cases like his. Infections are also very common and I'm sure Kenneth will have no problem getting past it with everything else he has already gone through. It's wonderful that they promoted him, congrats!!

You are ALLOWED to complain, don't hold it in - it isn't healthy! Let it out, vent, rant, complain.
I complained today because I messed up my pedicure - then I came on and read your post and YOU reminded me to be so grateful for everything in this life!!!
I am praying for you, Kenneth and your entire family - you will make it through this stronger than ever!!!

I know it's hard, and it's ok to feel this way. Just keep in mind that Kenneth is in the best place right now, if he moved to Kessler too soon things could turn bad, the doctors are keeping that from happening. Everyone has his best interests in mind, but it's natural to still be angry, let it out.
But don't spoil your July 4th plans because of Kenneth, he wouldn't want you to spend the whole day in the hospital with him. He'd want you to go to a BBQ and watch fireworks, and don't feel guilty about it, do it for him as well as yourself.
