Kidney stone
Has anyone had a kidney stone while pregnant? How long did it take to pass? My doctor thinks I have a kidney stone and it is really painful! There is not much I can do at this point but drink lots of water and wait it out.

I also thought I was in labor-I am 36 weeks. The pain is bad. Thankfully, I did not gave to stay in the hospital but I do have to go back if the pain gets worse.

Re: Kidney stone
Never while pregnant, thankfully, but I do have them. According to my doctor It is more common in pregnancy too because urine sits in your kidneys longer while pregnant and builds up stones.
Stinks that you can't take pain killers, but flush it with water. I mean, drink a TON of it. That should really help it pass if it's small enough.
Good luck. I know had bad it can be.
Upside-- labor was nothing compared to the pain of kidney stones.

Kidney stone
Good luck!! Every nurse in the hospital is telling her the pain she has from Kidney Stones is worse than labor.. Not what you ladies need to be dealing with.

On that note, when I got to the hosptial to get checked for my contractions on the day I delivered the Dr said to me, I will check you but I have a feeling I'll be sending you home. If you were progressed enough to be admitted you'd be in a lot more pain than you are showing right now. So he checks me. And is shocked as he says, "OMG you are 4-5 cm. Time to get admitted and have this baby" He said he really thought I'd be in more pain at that point and was surprised at how calm I was. I said to him, "please, this is NOTHING compared to my kidney stones" When he heard that it all made sense to him. It really is worse pain than contractions.

Kidney stone
Hearing that the kidney stone is more painful than labor is actually comforting because the pain is awful and I was thinking how am I going to handle labor if I am sufferering so much with this kidney stone. Hopefully it passes quickly and I do not have to go back to the hospital.

They totally need to offer epidurals to kidney stone patients. Like for real!

Re: Kidney stone
I had a kidney stone while preg and I was in excruciating and I mean excruciating pain. I had to be admitted to the hospital I couldn't walk and was vomitting from the pain. They had me on iv and they were straining all my urine until I passed it. Labor was definitely a hell of a lot less painful than that!
