Let's say your kid is going to a classmates party. Do you buy a card, too?
How else would they know who the gift is from if you don't buy a card to go with it?
I had personalized labels made up that say "A gift for you from...."
So much easier than cards.
Like Christmas labels that you just stick on?
Hmm, I dunno. I know people are swaying away from doing Thank You cards, but can't imagine skipping out on doing Birthday cards with a birthday gift. Seems strange!
Really? I feel like birthday cards are such a waste. A thank you card you need to do but the labels are cute and they serve the point. Mine are personalized with a cute little picture on them.
Here's an example:
Gift Label
Right but if you stick that on the gift, it's going to get ripped off with the wrapping paper and thrown away and they won't know who the gift is from I guarantee. I bet most people wouldn't even see something like that.
In my town almost no one does cards because they either use these labels or buy a toy at the local toy store that provides to/from labels. Everyone pretty much knows to look for the label because there's barely ever a card. I'm actually surprised not every town is like this now! I really thought cards were pretty much a thing of the past.... I have never not received a thank you card for a gift so I am sure they always know who it's from.
Interesting that is the first I heard of it! I like cards homemade or bought (cheaper the better.) My DS displays them on the mantle after his party. As for gift wrap I either have the store wrap it if I use the local toy store, or reuse a bag or get a bag from the dollar store. They also have those cute reusuable shopping bags with superheroes etc. on them at dollar store and target dollar spot. If I do a gift card, I just put it in a card.

Dollar store cards ... my dd likes to decorate them with stickers. I can't imagine not giving a card.

Re: kids birthday party-do you buy cards?
I'm usually buying the gift last minute in Target so I just buy the card and the wrapping paper or gift bag there and call it a day. Time is money. I'm not organized enough to be ordering labels, going to the dollar store for cards (it's out of the way for me), stocking up on stuff ahead of time
I waste a lot of money with my disorganization and laziness, I know, but eh, it is, what it is.

I agree I'm usually at Target buying the gift or gift card and it's usually when we are on our way to party so an extra stop to save the $3 on gift bag just doesn't happen.
