Re: Kids saying "bad words"

DS#1 used to pronounce truck as f*#$ when he was learning to talk. He would say it very loud and clearly. lol

We don't usually curse and neither do our children. I don't think they know the bad words.

Re: Kids saying "bad words"

Just tonight, we were at my mom's house for dinner. She has those cute little corn on the cob holders that look like ears of corn and my 3 y.o. loves them. So, he's going around asking for the "corn f*cks," and we're all looking at him like Chat Icon Chat Icon and Chat Icon because we had no idea what he was asking for. Turns out he meant the corn holders and was asking for "corn forks" but it sure wasn't coming out like that!!

My def fave is that we taught DS months ago how to do "cheers" with his drink cup. We also taught him in Hebrew. Cheers in Hebrew is L'Chaim (pronounced Le Hi im (rhymes with Tim.) He always says "Le Hymen" and looks at me quite quizzically as I sit there cracking up with tears running down my face.

Re: Kids saying "bad words"

My speech delayed son had 10 words at 18-22 months old and one of them was "sh!t".... He is now 3 and his speech has come a long way. He no longer says "sh!t", but has picked up "dammit". I don't use that word, but I found out tonight where he got it from, Grandma...He uses it appropriately too!

He can't pronounce "ck" yet, so he can only say "FUH"... It is also a word from Grandma... I stopped using it over a year ago... He says "shut up" once in a while.. Got that from some show on tv. He is no longer allowed to watch that.. A few months ago, he kept saying "dumb ass"... I thought he was saying "thomas"... Found out my brother was letting him watch "That 70's Show" and they used it a lot.. That show went bye bye... They will pick up anything they hear.. Even though you may not curse, they will hear it some where and will repeat it..

I just tell my son it is not a nice word and we can't say it anymore.... It usually works..
Being in the car is the worst... With all the idiot drivers out there, it is hard to not have some thing slip!!! I yelled at a woman one day in a parking lot. I said "move it lady".. Now DS says that all the time.. It was great when he did it in Target a few weeks ago when a lady walking in front of us wasn't going fast enough for him.. She just turned around and laughed... Better then him saying "get the Fu*k out of the way", like my cousin did when she was his age...

My son came running to me a few days ago and said some kid had called him a "bunny." He seemed very upset and wanted me to tell him what it meant. I didn't know either, but told him that it meant he could run and jump very fast, just like a rabbit. He seemed pleased and ran away. Later I found out that the kid called him a bully (other kid prob didn't know what it meant either).

Re: Kids saying "bad words"

My dad has terrible road rage. He would always beep the horn and yell out a**hole. So when I was about 18 months old my parents, me and their friends were in the car driving somewhere. My father beeped the horn and I yelled out nashhole! My father babysits my DS. He;s going to be a year on Saturday, I can't wait to hear what starts coming out of his mouth when he starts to talk!

Also when my niece was about 3 we were at my in-laws house. My niece was in the other room and didn't think she heard me, but I was mad at DH and was said all you do is d*ck around. Then we hear my niece saying d*cking around d*cking around. Oops! Had to really watch my mouth after that!

One day my niece asked DH & I to put the Butt song on.Chat Icon so after she kept saying the same thing I asked her to sing it to me & she said "Loosen Up, My Butt is Big"Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It was the P#ssy Cat Dolls song "Loosen up my buttons"

My DS once told me he had "B!tch" hair. I swore I was going crazy and laughing; I asked again and he said it again. found out that my darling DH was trying to spike his hair like I do, couldn't do it and told DS that he had "B!tch" hair.Chat Icon
