Kind of a spinoff: Do you kiss your DC on the lips?
So, I'm curious, do you kiss your DC on the lips? I never really thought twice about it, but both JT and I do kiss Ava on the lips all the time, and I can't believe I'm going to admit this, but I still kiss my parents on the lips as well It never occurred to me that it might not be the norm.

Yes we do. So does immediate family. But he's 15 months and is loving kissing.

This was brought up on another parenting board I am on.
I was shocked by how many people thought it was inappropriate!
We kiss our girls on the lips. Those kisses make me day
I also wouldn't care if my Inlaws or my parents or my brother, or SIL and BIL would do it.

i dont think anything is wrong with it but me personally, i dont. im scared im gonna give her germs. maybe when shes older and im not so worried about her getting sick i would.

We don't but to each his own.
We're probably over the top affectionate, but just not lip kissers with our kids. I like the differentiation for kisses between an SO & a parent.

OK I hope I don't come off as some crazy person , but this is my opinion on this:
Where I come from even parents don't kiss their kids on the lips(or at least not that I know of or seen EVER) When I came to America it was such a strange thing to me seeing people(parents,grandparents...) kissing kids on the lips.
Since having DD I realized there is nothing wrong with mom kissing her child on the lips( I don't do it that much and my DH doesn't do it at all).
But it bothers me A LOT when others do it, even if it's my mom or my MIL. I just don't think it's appropriate or hygienic. I saw certain family members doing it not long ago and I got very annoyed but felt bad saying something. If it happens again I'll make sure to say something.

On a very rare occasion.
My preference is not to kiss on the lips bc I don't want them to kiss other people like that. I tell them to kiss other people on the cheek.

same here! Except we're not overly the top affecionate, so we don't lip kiss with the kids.

I kiss my boys on the lips and they are 7 & 5. Rob also kisses them on the lips.
As to other people... Noah still goes to kiss people on the mouth when he greets them or says goodbye. Robbie has gotten to an age where he prefers to hug them and shake hands rather than kiss people at all.
I let them take the lead. If my kid ever tells me he doesn't want to kiss me - or would prefer to kiss me on the cheek or forehead - I will defer to them. But for now? They still like to throw themselves into my arms and pucker their lips on mine. And I love it.
ETA: I stopped kissing my parents on the lips at some point - but would still doe it once in a while - just not as a regular greeting. I also kiss my godchildren on the lips. They pucker up and I am not about to turn my cheek for them.

I ALWAYS kiss Megan on the lips. Its something Ive done since the day she was born. Its "my thing." I know it sounds odd, but it just makes me feel so close to her. Shes my daughter and I see it to be perfectly fine.
Sometimes I kiss my mom on the lips, but never my dad.

my ds is 10 and will STILL kiss my lips on occasion..we are very affectionate though, and i think im like this with him because i NEVER kissed my mother as a kid and still dont..she was on the colder side...

Maybe Im a freak but Im a lip kisser... I still kiss my mom on the lips, my best friend, even other family members...

when i was a kid i kissed my parents on the lips, i probably stopped somewhere in my teens
i haven't kissed DS on the lips yet, to be 100% honest i feel a little weird about it, but i want to - he has a gorgeous mouth 
i don't think it's strange - i know grown men who still kiss their mothers and fathers on the lips, i think it's sweet.

i didnt in the begining i didnt think it was right.. but thats just me (didnt grow up in a fam that hug and kiss) but joseph started kissing me on my lips and would only kiss med there. now i dont care.
